BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 98 - qg
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN EAGLE COUNTY DIRECTOR TO THE COLORADO
INTERMOUNTAIN FIXED GUIDEWAY AUTHORITY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
WHEREAS, House Bill 1335, signed into law on May 22, 1998,
creates the Colorado Intermountain Fixed Guideway Authority
( "CIFGA "), a legal entity charged with expediting efforts to
identify, test, demonstrate and construct a high speed transit
system along the I -70 corridor; and
WHEREAS, CIFGA it charged with two major responsibilities,
namely, (1) to return to the legislature in the year 2000 with a
detailed proposal for testing potential rapid transit technologies
and constructing a demonstration project of the winning alterna-
tive not to exceed $100,000,000, and (2) to develop and present to
the legislature in 2003 a public financing program for full build -
out of the system from Denver International Airport to the Eagle
County Regional Airport; and
WHEREAS, CIFGA's governing board will consist of one appointee
from each of the six corridor counties, two appointees by the
governer, and one each from the House and Senate republican and
democratic leaders; and
WHEREAS, Eagle County must select an appointee who resides in
Eagle County, without regard to party affiliation; and
THAT, this Resolution is necessary for the public health,
safety and welfare of the citizenry of the County of Eagle, State
of Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Eagle County
selects and appoints Jim Hartmann as its CIFGA director.
