BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 99 -�
AUTHORIZING THE ROAD AND BRIDGE SUPERVISOR
BRAD HIGGINS TO ENTER INTO EAGLE COUNTY ROAD
ADOPTION AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado (hereinafter referred to as the
"Board "), desires that Eagle County participate in road adoption
projects to enhance the aesthetics of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to §30- 11- 107(1)(aa), C.R.S., the Board
desires to delegate its power to enter into road adoption
agreements to Brad Higgins, Road and Bridge Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to adopt the Road Adoption
Agreement form set forth on Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and made
a part hereof by this reference, as the adoption agreement which
all persons and organizations will be required to sign if they
wish to adopt any county road or portions thereof in Eagle
County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, the Board hereby adopts and approves the Eagle County
Road Adoption Agreement form set forth on the attached Exhibit

THAT, the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners
authorizes Brad Higgins to enter into the Road Adoption
Agreement, in form set forth in the attached Exhibit "A ", with
any,persons or organizations wishing to adopt an Eagle County
Road.
THAT, the Board finds, determines and declares that this
Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare
of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.

Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its

EAGLE COUNTY ROAD ADOPTION AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the , a corporation,

5. The shall engage (when engaged) in a project,
will inform all its volunteers of the potential dangers of working close to the road including high
speed traffic, potentially noxious plants, broken glass, hazardous materials, strip metal and
potentially harmful wildlife including skunks and snakes.
6. The agrees to insure the method, manner, and
appearance of the participants will not in any way distract, disrupt, or adversely affect traffic.
Participants may not display messages, carry banners, or advertise their business affiliation or
cause.
7. Participants are prohibited from the possession, consumption or being under the
influence of drugs while performing work or liter pick up on the Road.
EXHIBIT "A"
8. The shall provide one adult supervisor for every
eight participants between 13 and 17 years of age. No one under age 6 shall be allowed to
participate.
9. All program participants shall wear an orange vest while engaged in pick up
activities.
10. The County reserves the right to request names and legal addresses of all
participating members of the group.
11. Eagle County will provide the orange safety vests and trash bags for program
participants upon reasonable notice. Work shall be done only after advance notice has been
given.
12. This agreement may be terminated by either parry upon written notice.
13. Eagle County shall install and maintain signs if requested by the group. The
County shall remove and dispose of filled trash bags.
14. The parties acknowledge that program participants are volunteers and not
employees of the County and that activities are conducted solely at their own risks.
