FILE NO. /NAME: 1041-0052 /Water Tank Restoration, Water System Storage Expansion, El Jebel Mobile Home Park APPLICANT: El Jebel Mobile Home park PLANNER: Cliff Simonton PRE-APPLICATION MEETING PROCESS INITIATED ON: March 27, 2003 DATE OF THIS REPORT: August 13, 2003 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The EZ Jebel Mobile Home Park proposes to restore and fill the park's original 200, 000 gallon water tank, which was abandoned in the summer of 2001 due to the deterioration of its interior lining. It was replaced with a similar 200, 000 gallon tank at that time. The two tanks are located right next to each other on an excavated bench just north of the Mobile Home Park The restoration of the old tank will double the capacity of the Park's water system to 400, 000 gallons, providing increased storage for emergencies and improved flows for fire fighting. The project will entail removing corrosion from inside the old tank and applying a new epoxy coating. Both tanks can then be filled and operated in conjunction with one another. No other construction or improvements are proposed, and no new development will result. The project cost is estimated at $60, D00 and will be funded through the operating budget of the El Jebel Mobile Home Park. No State permits or approvals are required, however, the work must conform to American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards. The construction will be managed by Mountain Cross Engineering out of Glenwood Springs.
