BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION N0.2003 ~~b
RESOLUTION CONCERNING AN APPOINTMENT
TO THE
BASALT REGIONAL LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. 24-90-108 (c), the legislative body of the respective
participating counties of the district shall appoint members to the library district board of trustees;
and
WHEREAS, the Basalt Regional Library District requests that the Board appoint Polly
Pollard as its Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees' representative via a letter of
appointment, incorporated herein as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the Eagle Board of County Commissioners interviewed the three candidates
for the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees' position and concurs with the Basalt
Regional Library District's request that Polly Pollard be appointed as the Basalt Regional Library
District Board of Trustees' representative; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, Polly Pollard be and is hereby appointed as the Basalt Regional Library District
Board of Trustees' representative for the Town of Basalt. Said term to expire MarcL 2008.
THAT, a copy of this Resolution to be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners of
the County of Pitkin, State of Colorado for their concurrence.
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners finds, determines and declares that this
Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado.

MOVED, READ, AND ADOPTED by the Boazd of County Commissioners of the County

Enclosed please find the three letters of int®rest which have be®n
submitted to the Basalt Regional Library Board of Trustaas for the
open Town of Basalt Representative position oa the Library Soard.
The letters of interest for rho Town of Basalt position are from
Basalt r®sidonts 1Car®n Alleger, K®rry McDaid, and Polly Pollard.
The Library Board discussed the qualifications of these interested
persona at its most recent maetiag on February 10, 2003, then passed
s motion recomQmeading that veteran Hoard m®mber Polly Pollard be
reappointed to the Towr1 of Basalt position. Before the vote, Soard
member Peter Frey noted that Polly•s reappointment would bring
stability and continuity to. the Soard, currently compos®d of mostly
n®~ver members ,
The Library Board was impress®d with the qualifications of the other
two individuals ovho applied for the position, sad would hope to
involve them in important work in the librsry~s future.
The next regular meeting of the Library Board will be held blouday,
March S0, 2003. Hopefully the sppointmants can be mad® in a manner
such that the neM appointee may attend this m®®tinq.
