HomeMy WebLinkAboutR01-084 Edwards Meto to have improvements constructed to Homestead Drive in Edwardsf C adoption BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 2001 - OB APPROVAL OF PERMISSION FOR THE EDWARDS METROPOLITAN DISTRICT TO HAVE IMPROVEMENTS CONSTRUCTED TO HOMESTEAD DRIVE IN EDWARDS. WHEREAS, The Edwards Metropolitan District (hereinafter "Applicant ") has requested permission to have improvements constructed along one side of Homestead Drive consisting of a 2 foot barrier curb and gutter, placed where the pavement for the road will have a minimum width of 24 feet, with a 5 foot concrete sidewalk adjacent to the back of the curb, from the end of the existing sidewalk just south of Edwards Village Boulevard to Arlington Place; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners ( "the Board ") has considered the request from the Applicant. WHEREFORE, based on the evidence presented by the applicant, the Board finds the following: 1) That there is a need to add improvements to Homestead Drive due to the high volume of pedestrian traffic in the area. 2) That there is no adverse impact to the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Eagle County. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: . THAT, on balance, the need for improvements to Homestead Drive due to increased pedestrian traffic in the area outweighs the adverse impacts to the people affected by granting this permission; THAT, The Board hereby approves and gives permission for the improvements to be constructed on Homestead Drive, the extent of which is shown in exhibit A and exhibit B. 1 C c THAT, The sole cost of these improvements will be borne by the Applicant. THAT, the Applicant will obtain a Permit to Construct in the Public Way from the Eagle County Engineering Department and follow all applicable guidelines associated with that permit. THAT, the Board hereby finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Eagle County.
