BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-
A RESOLUTION AMENDING EAGLE COUNTY
RESOLUTION NO. 96-22 TO REMOVE THE
TOWN OF BASALT FROM THE REGIONAL
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (`Board ") has the authority to develop,
maintain and operate mass transportation systems pursuant to §29 -2 -103.5 and §30- 11- 101(F),
C.R.S.; and
WHEREAS, Eagle County Resolution No. 96 -22 created the Regional Transportation
Authority, which consists of nine members, including the Town of Basalt; and
WHEREAS, the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority ( "RFTA ") was created on
September 12, 2000, to manage transportation issues in the Roaring Fork Valley, of which the Town
of Basalt is a member; and
WHEREAS, RFTA covers all the transportation issues within the Town of Basalt; and
WHEREAS, the Board would like to amend Eagle County Resolution No. 96 -22 to state that
the Town of Basalt will no longer be a member of the Regional Transportation Authority;
WHEREAS, the Mid - Valley trails committee is made up of members of the community in
the Roaring Fork Valley and has provided invaluable service by advising the Eagle County
Transportation Authority concerning trails in the Roaring Fork portion of Eagle County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMIVIISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, the Town of Basalt is removed from the Regional Transportation Authority.
THAT, Eagle County Resolution No. 96 -22 is hereby amended to reflect that the Town of
Basalt is no longer a member of the Regional Transportation Authority.
THAT, the Board would like to thank the members of the Town of Basalt and the members
of the Mid - Valley Trails Committee for their time and effort in service and appreciate their
dedication and contributions.
