HomeMy WebLinkAboutR84-80 expenditures from contingent fundY 4 RESOLUTION' OF TIME BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE: OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 84 - 8-6 RESOLUTION AU- LHORIZI14G EXPENDITURES FROM THE CONTINGENT FUND WHEREAS, County roads and drainage structures were seriously damaged and destroyed by an Act of God, -record high spring runoff during 1984; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Conunissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, hereinafter called the "Board ", has established a-Contingent Fund, budgeted and appro- priated funds in that fund to provide for expenditures caused by Acts of God, or the public enemy, or some contingency that could not have been reasonably forseen at the time of the adoption of the budget;�,and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the record high runoff requires the expenditure of funds from the contingency fund to restore the roads and drainage structures to usable conditions; and WHEREAS, the Board notes that certain other natural calamities during the course of the year including the unsually severe run off which caused flooding and damage to the County roadways and threatened other properties requiring extraordinary measures including sandbagging causing unforseen expenditures in the amount of $118,688.00 which taxed the budgets of the County Road and Bridge Department and the County Emergency Preparedness Agency to the extent that with other normal expenditures it is not possible for them to absorb the costs of the record high spring runoff. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado: k { THAT, the Board hereby finds that part of Eagle County roads were destroyed by Acts of God, acts that could not be forseen at the time of budget and designates of the Contingent Fund previously established pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 -25 -107, C.R.S., as the appropriate fund from which to pay the costs associated with the restoration of County roads and drainage structures. It is estimated those costs associated with the runoff incurred during 1984 will not exceed $118,688.00. THAT, the Board hereby finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is in the best interest and for the public health, safety and welfare fo the citizens of Eagle County. MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting held the 27th day of December, 1984.
