HomeMy WebLinkAboutR84-34 notices of increased assessed valuationCommissioner 19p7`7' moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 84 -_,2 NOTICES OF INCREASED ASSESSED VALUATION WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39 -8 -102, C.R.S., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, in its capacity as the Eagle County Board of Equalization (hereinafter referred to as the "Board ") is required to review the valuations for assessment of all taxable property appearing on the assessment roll of the County of Eagle, directing the Eagle County Assessor to supply any omissions which may come to its attention. Further, the Board shall correct any errors made by the Eagle County Assessor; and, whenever in its judgment justice and right so require, it shall raise, lower, or adjust any valuation for assessment appearing on the assessment roll to the end that all valuations for assessment of property are just and equalized within the County of Eagle; and WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board that because of the clerical work required to implement Amendment One to the Colorado Constitution, some owners of real property within the County of Eagle were not sent timely notices of increased assessed valuation by the Eagle County Assessor; and WHEREAS, unless provision is made for the giving of the aforementioned notices of increased assessed valuation, the valuations for assessment of property within the County of Eagle will not, in all instances, be just nor equalized as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO, IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE EAGLE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION: THAT, in compliance with the statutory mandate of Section 39 -8 -102, C.R.S., the Eagle County Assessor is hereby authorized to proceed with the notification of increased assessed valuation to those Eagle County taxpayers not previously notified of the same under Section 39 -5 -121, C.R.S. THAT, all notices of increased assessed valuation sent pursuant to this Resolution shall provide a disclosure statement, similar in form to the proposed language presented by the Eagle County Assessor to the Board at its regular meeting of July 6, 1984, setting forth the reason for the delayed notice of increased assessed valuation, and the right of the taxpayer to appeal such increased assessed valuation. THAT, this Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizenry of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado. MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, in its capacity as the Eagle County Board of Equalization, at its regular meeting held the c day of July, 1984.
