LETTERS OF SUPPORT REQUEST
May 19, 2025

During the letters of support section of the working meeting agenda,the following items were
presented to the Board of County Commissioners for their consideration:
Letters of Support
1. Emily presented a request to the Commissioners to sign on to a letter in support of Eagle County
Government's grant request to Colorado Parks and Wildlife:
• The grant funds would:
o Purchase bear-proof trash containers that would be distributed to Eagle County School
District.
Outcome: The Board(Commissioner McQueeney and Commissioner Scheer)voted to sign on to the
letter. Rhea signed on behalf of the Board.
2. Birch presented a request to the Commissioners to sign on to a letter written by Larimer County to
Colorado's Congressional Delegation related to continuing and not reducing federal support to local
governments for emergency management via FEMA.
• The letter will be formatted as a google doc sign on, available to counties and local governments
across the state.
• The letter requests the federal government not reduce the Public Assistance per capita thresholds.
• The letter addresses additional proposed changes to FEMA grant and reimbursement policies that
would increase barriers for local governments to access federal support in an emergency.
Outcome: The Board(Commissioner McQueeney and Commissioner Scheer)voted to sign on to the
letter. Commissioner Boyd independently indicated his support for the letter to Laura via email. Laura
will sign on behalf of the Board.
3. Laura presented a request from CCAT to sign on to a letter from counties to Governor Polis requesting
support for HB25-1004,No Price Coordination Between Landlords.
• The letter will be formatted as a google doc sign on, available to counties as members of CCAT.
• The letter requests that the Governor support the bill,rather than veto.
• The bill is important to maintaining fair pricing in the rental housing market.
Outcome: The Board(Commissioner McQueeney and Commissioner Scheer)voted to sign on to the
letter. Laura signed on behalf of the Board.
There being no further letters • re the Board,this completed the letters of support
portion of the meeting.
