RE: Final approval of the: Septic System Installation, OWTS-5-16-14727 Property location:
21650 Highway 6, Eagle County, Colorado.
Mr. Ron McCord:
This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced, OWTS-5-16-14727 permit, has been
inspected and finalized. This permit was approved and sized for a total capacity of two
bedrooms. Additional information about the maintenance your septic system needs can be
accessed through our website links, provided on the Environmental Health Department’s septic
system resource page.
Be aware that changes in the use of your property or alterations of your building may
require commensurate changes to, or relocation of, your septic system. Landscape features,
trees with tap roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the drain field can cause
premature system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair
dripping faucets and hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail. By
following a few simple guidelines, like avoiding grease or other additives down the drain and
making sure your septic tank is on a pumping schedule, your system has been designed to
last for many years.
If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970) 328-8755 and
reference the OWTS septic permit number.

RE: Soil and Site Evaluation
Lot 8, Red Mountain Ranch Fil No. 4
Canyonwoods
21650 U.S. Hwy 6, near Wolcott
Eagle County, Colorado
Project NO. 15-3073
On November 13 and 23, 2015, we visited the property on Lot 8, Red Mountain Ranch
Fil No. 4, Canyonwoods, 21650 U.S. Hwy 6, near Wolcott, Eagle County, Colorado. The
purpose of our site visits was to select the most suitable site available on the property that meets
the criteria of OWTS #43, for a septic system for the proposed McCord Residence on Lot 8. The
site is a 1.805 acre parcel of land at 21650 U.S. Hwy 6, near Wolcott, approximately 4 miles east
from the Highway 6 exit at the Town of Eagle roundabout, Eagle County, Colorado.
!Preliminary Investigation
G Address: 21650 U.S. Hwy 6, near Wolcott, Eagle County, Colorado
G Legal Description: Amended Final Plat, a Resubdivision of Lot 1 and Lot
2, Block 1, Lake Creek Meadows, Eagle County, Colorado
G Existing Structures: There were no structures on Lot 8.
G Location of existing and proposed wells on property: The well is located
between lots 7 and 8, about midpoint of the property line.
G ECEHD records: There are no existing septic systems on Lot 8.
G Topography: The topography of the property is flat to moderate with
about 5 percent slope north to south. To the south of the property is Eagle
River. There is a bank that drops about 10 feet down to the river. The
leachfield will be located on the lower portion of the lot, at about 100 feet
away from the river.
G Soil Data: The average percolation test was 15 mpi and a tactile test
results from the profile hole (Test Pit No. 2 on the plan) had a LTAR of 0.8
gpd/sf. The soil encountered in the profile hole consisted:

Altitude Septic, LLC was hired to perform a septic inspection at the above address. The septic system consists of
a 1250-gallon, 2 compartment, concrete septic tank with the inlet tee in place and an outlet filter. There are 24”
of risers on each side of the septic tank, bringing the lids to the surface. We were able to observe six inspection
ports in the leach field area and found all the ports dry. We also walked over the leach field area and found no
signs of saturation or failure.
We were unable to find any county records for this system but believe it to be installed in 2017. According to
the Assessor’s records, the house is a 2-bedroom home. Since we were unable to obtain any paperwork or a
system design, we can’t say exactly how many bedrooms the system was designed to serve, but usually a 1250-
gallon septic tank serves a 4-bedroom home. We would have to see if the design shows how big the leach field
was designed for to verify if it could service a 4-bedroom home.
At the time of inspection, this system is functioning properly. It is important to note that septic tanks need
pumped every 3-5 years and that the filter must be cleaned yearly!
