BOARD OF EAGLE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 011
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE ASPEN DAILY NEWS AS THE OFFICIAL
NEWSPAPER OF RECORD FOR EAGLE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado (the "Board") has previously adopted Resolutions designating the Eagle Valley
Enterprise as the official newspaper of record for the publishing of legal notices within Eagle
County, Colorado ("Eagle County"); and
WHEREAS, as of January 1, 2025, the Eagle Valley Enterprise is no longer in operation;
and
WHEREAS, C.R.S. § 24-70-102 and C.R.S. § 24-70-103(1) require legal notices to be
published in a daily, triweekly, semiweekly, or weekly newspaper of general circulation within
Eagle County that has been admitted to the United States mail with periodicals mailing privileges
("Periodicals Privileges"); and
WHEREAS, the Eagle Valley Enterprise was the only known newspaper of general
circulation in Eagle County with Periodicals Privileges; and
WHEREAS, C.R.S. § 24-70-103(3) provides that if a subject county does not have a
newspaper of general circulation with Periodicals Privileges, such county may publish legal
notices in any newspaper published in whole or in part in any adjoining county that has Periodical
Privileges and is also published in part in the subject county; and
WHEREAS, the only known newspaper published in an adjacent county and within part
of Eagle County with Periodicals Privileges is the Aspen Daily News,which is distributed in Pitkin
County and within portions of Eagle County in the Roaring Fork Valley; and
WHEREAS, the Board now accordingly desires to repeal prior Resolutions designating
the Eagle Valley Enterprise as the official newspaper of record and to designate the Aspen Daily
News as the official newspaper of record for Eagle County for the purpose of publishing legal
notices and any other matters requiring publication under the statutes of the State of Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
the County of Eagle, State of Colorado:
• THAT, all previous Resolutions identifying the Eagle Valley Enterprise as the official
newspaper of record for the publishing of legal notices are hereby repealed.

THAT, the Aspen Daily News shall be the official newspaper of record for Eagle County
for the purpose of publishing legal notices and any other matters requiring publication under the
statutes of the State of Colorado.
THAT, nothing in this Resolution shall be construed to limit the publication of County
legal notices solely to the Aspen Daily News where a statute or County ordinance, regulation, or
policy requires or allows additional publication in other newspapers.
THAT, this Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety, and welfare of the
inhabitants of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.

of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting held the 4th day of February, 2025.
