This revision aims to reallocate funds originally allocated for EHS personnel and contracted services to the EHS equipment budget. To optimize the use of available funds and effectively address the program’s evolving needs, EHS respectfully requests a budget revision to facilitate the purchase of a much needed minivan. This vehicle will be dedicated to EHS operations and will significantly enhance our ability to travel to home visits and provide transportation to children and families to group socials. After review and consideration, the BoCC formally approved the submission of this budget revision. We believe this reallocation of funds represents a prudent and strategic investment that will directly benefit the children and families we serve. This revision aims to reallocate funds originally allocated for EHS personnel and other purchased services to the EHS equipment budget. Due to unforeseen vacancies in EHS positions this year, we have experienced salary savings. Specifically, this included a vacant home visitor position from January through May 2024 and a vacant manager position for the second half of the year. In addition, savings were realized in the contracted services budget because of an early termination of a contract with a child care provider and because of the use of funding from Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) to pay for a majority of child care expenses for families who are eligible and enrolled in both the EHS center based program and CCAP. To optimize the use of available funds and effectively address the program’s evolving needs, EHS respectfully requests a budget revision to facilitate the purchase of a much needed minivan. This vehicle will be dedicated to EHS operations. EHS provides transportation services to children and families for group socials for the home based program participants. EHS home visitors and parent advocates use the program vehicles to travel to home visits and other work related meetings. Regular transportation is not provided for center based program participants. This budget revision will significantly enhance our ability to travel to home visits and provide transportation to children and families to group socials. We believe this reallocation of funds represents a prudent and strategic investment that will directly benefit the children and families we serve. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Sincerely, Kendra Kleinschmidt, LCSW Deputy Director Eagle County Department of Human Services 551 Broadway Street Eagle, CO 81631 Docusign Envelope ID: 7FCCECB2-61E2-4602-9561-51E1867D3335
