of the following Resolution:
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024 -072
RESOLUTION CONCERNING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE
EAGLE VALLEY LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS,pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-90-108(2)(b), the legislative body of the respective
participating counties of the district shall appoint members to the library district board of
trustees; and
WHEREAS, Hiren Patel desires to be appointed to the Eagle Valley Library District
Board of Trustees, starting on the 1st day of January, 2025, and the Eagle Valley Library District
has recommended the appointment(see letter of recommendation attached hereto as Exhibit A
and incorporated herein by reference); and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County desires to appoint
Hiren Patel to the Eagle Valley Library District Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the following appointment shall neither constitute a contractual obligation
of the County of Eagle nor of the Board, and the County and the Board shall not be legally
bound for the respective term of appointment as specified herein below; and
WHEREAS, the County, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle
County, is vested with the authority, in its sole discretion, to change, add, or abolish such
appointments and designations and to fill vacancies as it sees fit.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT,Hiren Patel is hereby appointed to the Eagle Valley Library District Board of
Trustees, as a regular member, said term to start on the Pt day of January, 2025, and expire on
the 31st day of December, 2029.

Dear Commissioners,
The Eagle Valley Library District Board of Trustees will have a vacancy for a five-
year term open on January 1, 2025 as Adina Dean, Trustee President will have
finished her final term. On Thursday, August 29, 2024 the Trustees interviewed
eight applicants. They selected Hiren Patel to fill the open term, starting January
1, 2025.
Hiren has resided in Edwards, CO for the past four years and has been involved
with numerous non-profits, including, Pine Street Inn Homeless Shelter in
Boston, the National Federation of the Blind and he was previously a board
member of Denver Children's Home. Since moving to Edwards, Hiren has been
working with the Literacy Project as a tutor. He attributes the learning
environment at his local hometown library with creating the foundation that
propelled him into college at Johns Hopkins University and ultimately earning his
Ph.D. and MBA.
