Permitted Construction / Details:
Install the new system exactly as depicted in the Brock Civil design dated April 5th, 2021, signed and stamped March
30th, 2021. The new system will be sized to accommodate the maximum daily flows for factories and plants
exclusive of industrial wastewater per employee per eight-hour shift with no showers for one employee, a kitchen
sink without a grinder, a water closet and 10 short term transient visitors per day.
The OWTS consists of one sewer line from the mobile dairy processing unit. A 500 gallon, two-compartment
concrete septic tank will be used with an effluent filter in the outlet tee. A Tank EZ Alarm with visible and audible
alarms will be used. The STA consists of one shallow trench of 7 Infiltrator Quick 4 Plus Standard chambers. One
foot of concrete performance sand will be used beneath the chambers.
Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer well in advance of requesting inspections prior
to backfilling any component of the OWTS. The design engineer is responsible for conducting all inspections
necessary to certify the installation and assure the functionality of the system. System certification, along with
photos and a record drawing is required to be submitted to and approved by Eagle County Environmental Health
prior to the use of the system.
THIS PERIMT EXPIRES BY TIME LIMITATION AND BECOMES NULL AND VOID IF THE WORK AUTHORIZED BY THE PERMIT IS NOT COMMENCED WITHIN 120 DAYS OF
ISSUANCE, OR BEFORE THE EXPIRATION OF AN ASSOCIATED BUILDING PERMIT

DESIGN FLOWS
TABLE 6-2 - Auxiliary Buildings by fixture type;
Commerncial Waste Water Industrial per employee (1) = 20 GPD (assumes in-house toilet)
Kitchen Sink w/o grinder = 3 GPD
Facility with short term transient visitors 10 per day @ 5 GPD = 50 GPD (assumes in-house toilet)
Water Closet (Toilet) = 24.8 GPD
Q Design = 97.8 GPD
On site privy provided.
SOILS PROFILE (Visual and tactile investigation):
Profile Holes (2) Textural Classification
0.0 to 1.0 ft Topsoil with heavy organics
1.0 to 6.0 ft Sandy, Silty Loam
6.0 to 8.0 ft Scattered rock (< 10%)
No groundwater. No mottling of soils in the profile holes to indicate that the highest seasonal water surface would impact the
treatment area. No layers or interfaces that will interfere with effluent movement.
PERCOLATION TESTS: Visual and tactile evaluation of the treatment soil indicates Sandy, Silty Loam to Loam with a
percolation rate of 7-10 Minutes/Inch.
INFILTRATOR CHAMBER SYSTEM IN SERIAL TRENCH DISTRIBUTION
Given this information, the creamery would be best served by a chamber system in serial trench distribution.
Treatment Level 1 Effluent: Per Table 6-3: 10-3.
Surface of Soil Treatment Area (STA) shall be based on LTAR and not the percolation rate.
Soil Treatment Area = Design Flow (gals/day)/LTAR gal/day/SF.
Long Term Acceptance Rate (LTAR) is calculated as follows:
·Silty Sand. According to Table 10-1, the LTAR is estimated to be 0.80 Gal/day/SF.
·Design Flow = 98 GPD/ 0.80 G/day/sf x (0.7) (Chamber Trench Reduction) (Table 10-3) = 86 SF.
·Using Standard Quick 4 Infiltrators; 86 SF/12 sf per Infiltrator = 7 Infiltrators.
·Trench shall be (1) run of (7) Infiltrators, TOTAL (7)
·Concrete 500 gallon tank
·Chamber Product to be Infiltrator Systems, Inc. “Quick 4” Standard Chambers.
SEPTIC TANK: A 500 gal septic tank is sufficient and meets a minimum 48 hours of retention. Inlet side 250 gallons, Outlet
250 gallons. Water tightness per Section 9, ASTM C 1227-12. Inspection by licensed pumper prior to work.
INSTALLATION
Install all components to the required setbacks required by regulations. No over excavation allowed for trenches.
CHAMBER TRENCH CONSTRUCTION: Install chambers onto undisturbed trench (approx) 3 ft X 28 ft bed level., in (1)
runs of (7) chambers. Backfill the chambers and all voids between with native Sandy Loam (no cobbles) to top of chambers.
TOP SOIL CONSTRUCTION: Back fill over chambers with 12 inches of high organic top soil and reseed to native
vegetation. Do not compact top soil!
SEPTIC TANK & PIPE CONSTRUCTION: Install septic tank bio-filter at exit pipe. Delivery pipe from the connex to the
septic tank 2% slope.
ALARM: A visual and audible alarm shall be incorporated (added) to the septic tank. Alarm to be in an open area or area
easily visible.
NOTES:
1.Assemble and install the Infiltrator Chambers in the trenches according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
2.Avoid vehicle traffic, animal concentrated loads and irrigation over the system. Fencing advised.
3.The Septic System Installation shall be inspected by the Design Engineer prior to backfill. Pictures are not a substitution for
inspections
4.All installations shall meet the rules and regulations of the Eagle County Environmental Health Department.
5.Electrical requirements of alarm to be determined by Electrical Contractor prior to construction. In general, all electrical to
be 24” below grade.
6.A Bio effluent screen shall be installed at outlet tee and maintained annually or as needed.
7.Pump septic tank every 2-3 years minimum.
8.Installer must be licensed installer in eagle county; see permit.
