The purpose of our site visits was to observe the installation of lie septic system. They installed ibe system in overall compliance with tlae septic system design., Drawing No. 01161SD.DWG, dated May 6, 2002. The system was installed as shown on the attached as -built sketch. They connected the building sewer line from the new building into the first of the two existing septic tanks. The existing septic tanks consisted of one rectangular and one round, precast, concrete septic tanks. The baffles of the existing tanks were to be inspected by the installer. We were not informed of the findings. Forty-six, standard, infiltrator chambers were installed with serial distribution in three trenches. The first tench (closest to the tanks) lead 14 infiltrators and the last two had 16 infiltrators each. Horizontal distance was about 9 feet from center to center of the trenches_ Inspection ports were installed in the first and last infiltrator of each trench. A review of Eagle County records indicates that: On 8/29/77, the ISDS was permitted under Permit Number 215. The system consists of a 1,000 gallon septic tank and 800 square feet of absorption area. Under current regulations, a 1000 gallon tank will accommodate up to a three bedroom home. It has been noted that this home contains four bedrooms on the existing 1000 gallon tank. In the future, if there is any problem with this system, the tank must be sized to accommodate an additional bedroom. The site visit conducted reveled no visible sign of failure. Obviously, this does not guarantee the continued satisfactory performance of the system. The water supply to this residence is from Lake Creek Meadows, a community water system. The community water system is inspected on a regular basis by the Colorado Department of Health and to the best of our knowledge complies with current drinking water standards.
