Drawer 4499 Eagle, CO 81631 Dear Dave: RE: Inspection of ClearStream Wastewater Septic System Installation Lot 10, Pilgrim Downs Subdivision Filing No. 5 Eagle County, Colorado 6200 —0b Project No. 9783 - Permit No."25-9 ' At the request of Rex Bossow and Bo, on July 1 through the 15, 1999, and couple of times in July of 2000, we visited the construction site on Lot 10, Pilgrim Downs Subdivision Filing No. 5, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visit was to observe the ClearStream Wastewater Septic System Installation for the main residence. On April 10, 2000, we received the partial, as -built sketch from Mr. Rex Bossow, and on July 10, 2000, an as -built sketch from Bo. They installed the system in as shown on the as -built sketch (included), dated July 10, 2000. The building sewer comes out of the east side of the building, near the northeast corner. From the cleanout to the septic tank is about 100 feet. The septic tank is 2500-gallon, two compartments, concrete septic tank. The access manhole to the first compartment of the septic tank is under the driveway tiles at the edge of the driveway near the masonry wall. To the west of the septic tank, two, 1500-gallon ClearStream, Aeration Tanks were installed. To the north of the aeration tanks is a 2500-gallon pump tank, with a P20, ClearStream Pump. The supply line from the pump is connected to the northeast corner of the Geoflow leachfield. The geoflow lines are spaced at 8 feet or more. Each line has built in emitters at 2 foot intervals. The vacuum breaker is at the northwest corner of the leachfield, and the return line comes out of the southeast corner and goes back to the pump tank. The installation of the system, specifically, the installation of the ClearStream Tanks and pump, was under the instruction of Mr. John Barnes, a ClearStream National Sales Manager. Originally, the ClearStream system was designed for 9 bedrooms, which required 779 of Emitter drip line. After as -built count of bedrooms of the compacted structure, it was found tliat it has 8 bedrooms. For the 8 bedrooms residence, 692 lineal feet of the emitter drip line was required and in order to meet the setback from the well, the leachfield was reduced to 692 feet.. For the setback from the well to the leachfield Bo had measured 164 feet from the well and marked a line to where Rex Bossow had to relocate the manifold. Box 179 500 Broadway Eagle, Colorado 81631-0179 The Environmental Health Division would like to notify you to make a formal written request'to extend your Individual Sewage Disposal System(ISDS) Permit #/IAf-l7into the 1998 construction year. The Environmental Health Division discontinued percolation tests on November 14, 1997, and will no longer conduct final inspections after December 1, 1997 due to climatic conditions. ISDSjpermits are active for 120 days after the date of issue if no Building Permit has been issued for the same property. If a Building Permit has been issued for the same property, the ISDS will expire at the same time as the building permit. If you still plan to apply for a Building Permit this year or in the early months of 1998 you will need to have a percolation test conducted before your Building Permit will be released. You will have to contact a Registered Professional Engineering(RPE) firm to conduct your percolation test. If you have had your permit issued and have not had your final inspection completed, but plan on constructing the system in the next few weeks, please give our office a call and we will evaluate your permit'on a case by case situation. If your system was designed by a Registered Professional Engineer be aware that the final inspection must be completed by the engineer. If the system has been completed please have the engineer submit as -built drawings or a letter of certification to Eagle County Environmental Health, P.O. Box 179, Eagle, CO 81631.
