Permitted Construction /Details:
This OWTS Permit authorizes the relocation of the Soil Treatment Area (STA)trenches out of a 30',
unused, utility easement that appears on the plat. All utilities are installed in Granada Glen right-of-way.
Install the new STA exactly as depicted on the October15,2018 H-P Kumar design packet, signed and
stamped by David A.Young, PE on October 16,2018.The system is designed to serve a 4 bedroom
residence.
Changes to the existing STA will consist of installing two new, shallow trenches closer to the home
spaced four feet apart, with15 Infiltrator Quick 4 Plus Standard chambers in the first trench and19 in the
second while adding one chamber to the next two trenches in series as shown on the design drawing. A
new SDR 35 effluent line will be required to connect the existing septic tank to the first row of Infiltrator
chambers with the subsequent trenches connected serially.Additional grading may be required to divert
surface drainage away from the STA.The existing trenches that are located within the unused,30'
easement may be removed or left in place.
NOTE:The 20' and setback from the house to the STA, as well as the edge of the unused,30' easement
should be clearly marked prior to installation.
Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer at least48 hours in advance of
requesting inspections.A inspections necessary to certify proper installation must be performed by the
design engineer.Final certification, along with a record drawing and photos are required to be submitted
to, and approved by, Eagle County Environmental Health prior to the use of the system.

RE: Final approval of the: Septic System Installation, OWTS-10-18-20229 Property location: 322
Granada Glen, Edwards. Eagle County Area.
Mr. McCarty:
This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced, OWTS-10-18-20229 permit, has been
inspected and finalized. This OWTS permit was approved and sized to serve the 4 bedrooms,
residence.
Additional information about the maintenance your septic system needs can be accessed
through our website links, provided on the Environmental Health Department’s septic system
resource page.
Be aware that changes in the use of your property or alterations of your building may require
commensurate changes to, or relocation of, your septic system . Landscape features, trees with
tap roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the soil treatment area can cause
premature system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair
dripping faucets and hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail.
If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970) 328-8755 and
reference the OWTS septic permit number.
Best Regards,
Giovanna Harkay.

Permit No. OWTS-10-18-20229
Project No. 16-7-307.02
Subject: As-Built Evaluation of Modified Onsite Wastewater Treatment System, Existing
Residence, Lot 2, Granada Glen, The Divide at Cordillera, 322 Granada Glen
Road, Eagle County, Colorado
Dear Mr. McCarty:
H-P/Kumar observed the modified of the Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) for the
existing residence at the subject site as required by the Eagle County Environmental Health
Department. This report summarizes our observations and recommendations. The services are
supplemental to Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical (now H-P/Kumar) agreement for professional
services to you dated November 10, 2015.
Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical (now H-P/ Kumar) originally designed the OWTS for the
residence and presented the recommendations in a report dated June 27, 2016, Project No. 115
567A. H-P/Kumar submitted a revision to the OWTS design in a letter dated July 19, 2017,
Project No. 16-7-307.02. We submitted an As-Built evaluation letter dated August 21, 2017,
Project No. 16-7-307.02. At that time the county accepted the system as constructed.
It was requested that the portion of the soil treatment area (STA) within the 30 feet vacant utility
easement in the lower part of the lot adjacent to Granada Glen Road be relocated. We submitted
a modification design of the STA for the OWTS on October 15, 2018, Project No. 16-7-307.02.
We performed our As-Built evaluation for the STA modification on November 15, 2018. A. R.
Excavating installed the OWTS under Eagle County Permit No. OWTS-10-18-20229. The
OWTS components observed included: effluent transport pipe, soil treatment area (STA) and the
locations of components. The sewer line and septic tank were previously installed and reported
in our August 21, 2017 As-Built letter.
The two downhill, southern rows of the existing STA (orange on Fig. 1) were abandoned by
cutting and capping the serial connection to them and removing the observation ports. The two
new rows of chambers (green on Fig. 1) were placed on the uphill, northern side of the existing
STA and connected to the effluent transport line from the septic tank. As designed, an additional
chamber was to be placed on each on the existing rows of chambers; however, it was possible in

Project No. 16-7-307.02
Subject: Revised STA Layout for OWTS, Existing Residence, Lot 2, Granada Glen, The
Divide at Cordillera, 322 Granada Glen Road, Eagle County, Colorado
Dear Mr. McCarty:
As requested by Don Dotson, we are providing recommendations for revising the soil treatment
area (STA) layout for the existing onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) at the subject
site. This reports provides our recommendations for the new layout of the system.
Background: The original design of the OWTS was submitted in a report dated June 27, 2016,
Project No. 115 567A by Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical (now H-P/Kumar). H-P/Kumar
submitted revisions to the design in a letter dated July 19, 2017, Project No. 16-7-307.02. The
system was permitted by Eagle County under their Permit No. OWTS-7-16-14999. We provided
the OWTS As-Built evaluation for the system in a letter dated August 21, 2017, Project No. 16-
7-307.02. The system is conventional gravity flow to Infiltrators in a trench configuration with
serial distribution. The system has been accepted by the County and is functional.
We understand that you are requesting the portion of the STA located within the 30 feet vacant
utility easement in the lower part of the lot adjacent Granada Glen Road be removed. The
system has been designed for four bedrooms as is this current re-design discussed below.
Recommendations: A layout of the proposed new STA is provided on the attached Figure 1
with plan and cross section of the STA provided on Figures 2 and 3, respectively. The existing
septic tank and sewer line to the tank will remain as installed. Based on site elevations provided
by Marcin Engineering, continued gravity flow from the tank to the revised STA is feasible. A
new effluent line from the septic tank to the first row (west side) of STA Infiltrators will be
needed. The new STA layout will have the effluent gravity flow through the Infiltrator/trenches
by serial distribution for dispersal and final treatment. Current State and Eagle County
regulations allow the Infiltrator/trenches to have a minimum 4 feet of undisturbed soil between
the trenches, rather than the minimum 6 feet separation for the original design.
For the STA modifications, the two rows of Infiltrators within the 30 feet easement on the
downhill, eastern side of the STA (shown as brown on Figure 1) will be abandoned. Two
additional rows of Infiltrators in trenches (shown as green on Figure 1) will be added on the
uphill, western side of the STA. The two middle rows of the STA (shown as black on Figure 1)
