The replacement tank is a 1,500 gallon two compartment Norwesco Low Profile septic tank with effluent filter on the outlet tee of the second tee. Risers must be added as necessary to bring both access manholes to or above grade. The old tank is to be abandoned as specified in43.9(C.). Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer well in advance of requesting inspections prior to backfilling any component of the OWTS. The design engineer is responsible for conducting all inspections necessary to certify the installation and assure the functionality of the system. System certification, along with photos and a record drawing is required to be submitted to and approved by Eagle County Environmental Health prior to the use of the system. Robert Levine PO Box 5 New Durham, NH 03855 wjacob@aaminc.biz 970-904-1073 RE: Inspection of Septic System Installation Septic Tank Replacement Lot 3, Casteel Creek Ranch Subdivision 2424 Casteel Creek Road Eagle County, Colorado Old Septic Permit 1162-92 Project No. 21-3567OWTS-022765-2121 Dear Will: At the request of Travor Dunsdon, Altitude Septic, LLC, the installer, on October 29, 2021, we visited the Levine property - Ridge House on Lot 3, Casteel Creek Ranch Subdivision, 2424 Casteel Creek Road, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visit was to inspect the installation of the new septic tank. The system was installed in overall compliance with the repair design, dated October 19, 2021. At the time of the inspection we observed the following: He installed a 1500-gallons, Two Compartments, NORWESCO, Low Profile Septic Tank - IAPMO. The inlet and outlet of the tank had the T’s installed. In the outlet Tee, an effluent filter was installed with the handle extended close to the top of the riser. The new tank and pipes (the building sewer line and the effluent line) were laid over a bed of pea gravel. The tank was also backfilled with pea gravel up to the inverts. The new building sewer line and the effluent line were constructed with SDR35 pvc. The access port over the inlet compartment of the septic tank had three-15-inch high, plastic riser, and the outlet had two, 15-inch, plastic risers with black, plastic lids secured with screws. According to Travor, he will bring the old septic tanks to the Eagle County Dump for disposal. There is no other warranty either expressed or implied. Robert Levine PO Box 5 New Durham, NH 03855 wjacob@aaminc.biz 970-904-1073 RE: Consultation on Septic Tank Replacement Lot 3, Casteel Creek Ranch Subdivision 2424 Casteel Creek Road Eagle County, Colorado Old Septic Permit 1162-92 Project No. 21-3567 Dear Will: On October 18, 2021, we met with you at the Levine property on Lot 3, Casteel Creek Ranch Subdivision, 2424 Casteel Creek Road, Eagle County, Colorado, Old Septic Permit 1162- 92, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visit was to locate the uncovered components of the existing septic tank. From our conversation, emails, and from the documents received from the Eagle County Environmental Health Department, we understand that the existing system was built for four bedrooms in June of 1992 with a 1500-gallon, two compartments, concrete septic tank and STA of 1395 square feet, with 40 infiltrators in three trenches. On a copy from the county folder jacket, it was written that two of the trenches have 16 infiltrators and one has 8. We also understand that the septic tank was pumped and inspected by Altitude Septic and it was determined by Travor Dunsdon, Altitude Septic, that the septic tank is leaking and needs to be replaced. During our site visit, we observed (as uncovered by you and Travor) the access manholes of the existing septic tank and took measurement for the preparation of the attached sketch. We recommend that the old septic tanks be removed and disposed according to the ECEH Department regulations, OWTS #43.9C.1 - Abandonment of Tank. The proposed new septic tank will be 1500-Gallons, Two Compartments, NORWESCO, Low Profile Septic Tank - IAPMO with an Effluent Filter in the second compartment. This tank was selected due to availability. Following are the instructions for the septic tank installation and the repair of the building sewer lines: x Bends in the building sewer shall be limited to 45 degrees. x The septic tank will be installed level. x The base under the new septic tank will be prepared according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. x The tank will have risers over each access manhole and all risers will extend to or above final grade. x Each riser lead will have a secure closing mechanism, such as a Septic Repair - 2424 Casteel Creek Road Page 2 of 2 October 19, 2021 Project 21-3567 P.O. Box 724, Eagle, CO 81631 Tel (970) 390-0307 www.LKPEngineering.com lock, special headed bolts or screws, to prevent unauthorized access. x The septic tank and all the piping will be backfilled up to the inverts prior to scheduling an inspection. The installer, Travor Dunsdon with Altitude Septic will submit an application and a filing fee for a repair permit, and will coordinate the abandonment of the old tank, the installation, connection and backfilling of the new tank, and will make sure that all the required setbacks are met. Once the new septic tank is installed with all the connections completed, you or your installer will give a 48-hour notice to LKP Engineering and the ECEH Department to schedule the inspection. DO NOT backfill any part of the system prior to the inspection. This report has been prepared according to locally accepted Professional Engineering standards for similar conditions at this time. There is no other warranty either expressed or implied. The findings and recommendations of this report are limited to the information available at the time of writing of the above report.
