This system is designed to accommodate the maximum daily flows for a 5 bedroom residence. The OWTS consists of one sewer line from the residence. A Valley Precast 1,500 gallon (2,000 gallon total volume), 3 compartment concrete septic tank with an Orenco high head pump PF500511 in the 3rd compartment will be used. The pump will be set to dose 90 gallons per dose. The STA consists of a bed of 4 rows of 23 Infiltrator Quick4 Plus Standard chambers on an unlined sand filter with three feet of secondary sand with distribution laterals, orifice size, and space as shown in the approved design. Note: Gradation of the sand media use must be completed within one month prior to the installation and confirmed with the design engineer. If the sand does not conform to secondary or preferred sand media requirements, it cannot be used for the sand treatment media. Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer well in advance of requesting inspections prior to backfilling any component of the OWTS. The design engineer is responsible for conducting all inspections necessary to certify the installation and assure the functionality of the system. System certification, along with photos and a record drawing is required to be submitted to and approved by Eagle County Environmental Health prior to the use of the system or occupancy of the dwelling. The purpose of our site visits was to inspect the installation of the septic system. The system was installed in overall compliance with the septic system design, Drawing No. 22-35825OWTS.dwg, dated May 11, 2022. At the time of the inspection, we observed the following: The building sewer line (backfilled before inspection) was connected to the southeast side of the residence, north of the SE corner. The cleanout was 4’10” away from the foundation wall, as shown on the attached as-built sketch. They installed 1500-gallons, three compartments, precast, concrete, septic tank by Valley Precast with an effluent filter in the second compartment and an Orenco PF500511 high-head pump assembly in the third compartment. The inlet of the tank had the sanitary Tees installed. The tank access ports had corrugated, plastic risers with secured, green, plastic covers. The covers were secured with nuts, bolts, and screws. The risers over the first to compartments were 4 feet high, and the one over the pump chamber was 3-ft high. The control panel was installed on a wooden post, between the septic tank and the residence, close to the pump chamber. The effluent line from the pump chamber to end manifold of the soil treatment area, was about 42 feet long, 1.5-inch diameter, sch40 pvc pipe. The end manifold was about 7.5 feet long, 1.5-inch sch40 pvc. The soil treatment area consisted of infiltrator chambers arranged in a bed configuration with three rows of 23 Quick Four Plus Standard Infiltrator Chambers in each. Three feet of the onsite silty, clayey, rocky soil was overexcavated from the bottom of the trenches and replaced with three feet of secondary sand media (the graph is attached to this report). Pressure dosing system consisting of 94-ft, 1.25-inch sch40 laterals perforated at the top with 1/8-inch holes at 4-ft intervals, suspended from the side of each row of infiltrator chambers. The ends of the laterals were equipped with flushing assemblies, piped through the end caps. A squirt test was performed during the last inspection and it was satisfactory.
