HomeMy WebLinkAboutR1970-19 Contingent Fund and Expenitures from the General Fund ,A, s411 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY C©MMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE IN THE STATE OF COLORADO • WHEREAS, the budget for the County of Eagle, Colorado for the fiscal year of 1970, adopted in 1969, provided funds for a Contingent Fund and appropriated $12,440.28 for payment of unforseen contingencies; AND, WHEREAS emergencies arising during the year and other contingencies that could not have been reasonably forseen at the time of the adoption of the budget, have required, or will require, expenditures in the following amounts out of and from the General Fund for said fiscal year in excess of the amounts budgeted for the following purposes, to-wit: Unforseen Election expenses in excess of amounts anticipated $ 1,767.55 Additional insurance and major maintenance expense of Court House occasioned by inflation 3,055.64 Repairs to jail necessitated by vandalism of prisoners and meals provided in excess of • anticipated amounts 974.90 Replacement of water well at Airport due to existing well being damaged to such extent as to make repairs impossible 1,500.00 Hiring and training of new County Health Nurse due to resignation of prior County Nurse 900.00 Payment of Attorneys fees in Civil Action No. G-759 in United States District Court of Colorado, amounts and time of payment not having been previously determinable 2,200.00 Purchase and installation of tape recording equipment for Board of County Commissioners necessitated by public hearings 810.00 TOTAL: $11,208.09 AND, WHEREAS, it has been necessary to expend the sum of $600.00 out of and from the Retirement Fund in excess of the amount budgeted therefor during the year 1970 due to unforseen employment of additional employees and back-funding necessi- • tated by erroneous computation for former years, AND, WHEREAS more than sufficient monies are available in the Contingent Fund, not needed for other expenditures during the balance of the fiscal year, for the payment of said emergencies and unforseen contingencies; wl' NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that $11,208.09 be transferred from said • Contingent Find to the County General Fund to reimburse the latter fund, or to provide funds therein, for payment of aforesaid items aggregating said amount, and that $600.00 be transferred from said Contingent Fund to the Retirement Fund to reimburse it or to provide funds therein for payment of above mentioned items in that amount, and such expenditure are hereby authorized. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be filed with the Division of Local Government in the Department of local Affairs, and that another certified copy be delivered to the County Treasurer as and for his authority in making said transfers. READ, CONSIDERED, PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by a two-thirds vote of our Board, and ordered published, at a regular meeting held this 28th day of December, 1970.
