HomeMy WebLinkAboutR1970-15 Hunting Activities in Vail • • RESOLUTION 411 A RESOLUTION RESTRICTING HUNTING ACTIVITIES IN THE VICINITY OF VAIL FOR THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF LOCAL CITIZENS WHEREAS, the hunting season for the year 1970 will begin on or about October 17 ; and WHEREAS , certain hazardous conditions were allowed to prevail in the Vail area in the past years relating to unrestricted hunting in the immediate area; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the community to preserve and maintain safe conditions for persons and prop- erty by restricting hunting in the area surrounding the Town of Vail . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS : That the Board of Trustees for the Town of Vail re- spectfully recommends that the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners t•Ike any and all necessary measures to pro- hibit any hunting or the discharge of firearms in the area • extending west from the Gore Creek Campground to the Vail interchange, along Interstate Highway 70 , for an area ex- tending one-half mile on either side of highway; and to do any and all things necessary to have hunting in said area • restricted or prohibited by the Colorado Game, Fish and Parks Department.
