Box 3238 Vail, CO 81658 Tear Steve - RE: Inspection of Septic Systems Installation Nichols Residence Lot 7, Red Canyon Estates Eagle County, Colorado Project No. 9810 - Permit No. 1785-98 At the request of Rick from Graystone Construction., on July 22 and September 16, 1998, we visited the construction site on Lot 7, Red. Canyon estates, near Eagle, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visit was to observe the installation of the septic system. They installed the system in overall compliance with, the septic system design, Drawing No. 981 OSD.DWG, dated May 29, 1998. The system was connected to the main residence as shown on the above named drawing. From the house to the first cleanout was 4 feet. From there to the septic tank was 30 feet. They installed 1500-gallon, two compartments, a precast, concrete septic tank. The tank had Moot risers on both'iinspection covers. From the tank to the stream crossing was 80 feet and from the stream crossing to the cleanout was 30 feet. We recommended installation of an additional cleanout on the west side of the stream crossing. At the stream crossing the 4-inch sewer line was encased in an 8-inch PVC pipe. From the crossing to the edge of the pond was 105 feet. From the east cleanout the line turned at 45 degrees for 52 feet and 22 degrees for 8 feet to the next cleanout. From the cleanout to the first Infiltrator trench was 62 feet. Also, from the first infiltrator trench to the edge of the pond was 75 feet. Forty-eight Standard Infiltrator Chambers were installed in four trenches with 12 Infiltrators each. The infiltrators were connected with serial distribution. In the first and last infiltrator of each trench, inspections ports were installed. Horizontal distance from center to center of the trenches, was 9 feet or more. All piping was SDR-35, 4-inch PVC, The depth of the trenches was two to three feet. The soil profile in the trenches was consistent with the soil exposed in the profile hole.
