THE COLORADO STATE PATROL

COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is made and entered into this
day of June, 1981, by and between the Colorado State Patrol,

hereinafter referred to as the "State", and the County of Eagle, Colorado,
by and through its Board of County Commissioners and the Sheriff's
Department, hereinafter referred to as the "County".
WHEREAS, the State and the County on December 10, 1980, entered
into a contract whereby the State would provide full time radio dis-
patching services to the County; and
WHEREAS, the State and the County desire to specify the
extent of radio dispatching services that the State will provide to
the County.
WHEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants, conditions,
and promises contained in that certain contract referred to hereinabove,
the parties hereto agree hereby as follows:
I. The State shall provide the following radio dispatching
services to the Eagle County Sheriff's Department:
.�, a. The State will continue to provide computer service,
i.e. entering warrants, stolen vehicles, articles,
missing persons, etc., when necessary until such
time that the Eagle County Sheriff's Department
can provide said service for itself on a twenty-
four -hour basis;
b. The State will provide thirty minute time checks
on Sheriff's Department patrol deputies from
6:00 P.M. till 6:00 A:M. and hourly time check from
6:00 A.M. till 6:00 P.M. daily; (on Form provided
by Eagle County Sheriff's Office).

C. The State will make "calls for service cards"
on all dispatched calls for Sheriff's Department
deputies, specifying the time received, time
dispatched, time arrived and time cleared call.
The Sheriff's Department shall provide the "call
for service'' forms;
d. The State will provide limited telephone service.
It will answer the Sheriff's phone, 328-6611, on a
limited basis when the jail personnel are tied up with
j ail work;
e. The State will make safety checks of the Sheriff's
NqWP11 deputies when it is known to the dispatcher that a
deputy could be in a dangerous situation. A Sheriff's
deputy will be responsible for informing the dispatcher
that a dangerous situation might exist by referring to
such siituation as a 10-0 call. Nothwithstanding the
foregoing, a dispatcher will be responsible for a
safety check'if through common sense one would realize
from the nature of the call from a deputy that a
dangerous condition might exist; Supervisor will
be notified if no contact has been made with officer
after 15 minute time elapse.
f. The State will -provide a warning ticket file for the
County. The filing and purging of such file will be
the sole responsibility of the County; (File cabinet
will be provided by the County for use in dispatch room).
g. The State will give priority to any and all calls of
a serious nature regardless of police department.

II. In the event that the services referred to in Section (I)
hereinabove are not to the reasonable satisfaction of the Eagle County
Sheriff, the Board of County Commissioners, upon notification from the
Sheriff, shall terminate that certain contract dated December 10, 1980,
between the parties hereto according to the termination provision
contained therein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The parties hereto have executed this
Memorandum of Understanding the day and year first above written.
