RSVP's are ideal "hosts" because they fully meet EASI's criteria (proven track record of successful volunteer management and insurance for volunteers) to sponsor Senior Environment Corps. EASI's experience shows that RSVP's with Senior Environment Corps provide important links between seniors and environmental decisions facing communities throughout the country. This provisional EASI SEC charter would be in effect for at least 12 months but not more than 24 months, and provides the basis for the following contractual agreement between EASI and the local host organization: The local host organization will recruit a minimum of 5 senior volunteers for an operational period of at least 12 months and will provide timely, periodic information to EASI on the progress and accomplishments of the project, as well as any media coverage of the project. EASI will provide letters of support for local fiindraising, quarterly newsletters to all volunteers, technical consultations with EASI staff, recognition materials ( T- shirts and ID cards, for example), training on an as -needed basis, and start-up grants (as funding permits). The initial projects will be: A task force led by RSVP volunteers to address issues such as, but not limited to, wetland restoration projects, re -forestation and environmental education projects. Volunteers will participate in a training class for monitoring of the water quality of our streams and will form a team to assist the Water Shed Council in a VIP tour of Vail Pass.
