Eagle County Government represents a community of 55,000 people on the western slope of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Many of our county ’s residences, local economic drivers, and critical infrastructure exist deep in the wildland-urban interface, and learning to adapt to the growing wildfire threat is a top priority for Eagle County leadership. We have a longstanding relationship with Xcel Energy and a common interest in advancing Xcel Energy’s pursuit of clean energy while working to ensure energy delivery is reliable and resilient. We support Xcel Energy ’s request for funding for wildfire mitigation activities including improved asset fire resistance, advanced asset inspection technology, advancements in wildfire safety and restoration response, fire spread modeling capabilities and other included projects. We encourage the Department of Energy to select Xcel Energy ’s application for funding from the GRIP program. Sincerely, Jeff Shroll County Manager Eagle County,Colorado 500 Broadway,P.O.Box 850,Eagle,Colorado 81631
