Enclosed is your ISDS Permit No. 1970-00. It is valid for 120 days. The enclosed copy of the
permit must be posted at the installation site. Any changes in plans or specifications
invalidates the permit unless otherwise approved. Please note any special requirements
that may have been added to the design by this department.
Systems designed by a Registered Professional Engineer must be certified by the Engineer
indicating that the system was installed as specified. Eagle County does not perform final
inspections on engineer designed systems. Your TCO will not be issued until our office
receives this certification.
Permit specifications are minimum requirements only, and should be brought to the property
owner's attention.
This permit does not indicate conformance with other Eagle County requirements. Please
notify this office if you have not been contracted to perform this installation.

November I, 2000, we visited the construction site for the Wolcott Post ()free , 27, and
, 27974 Highway ,,
Wolcott, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visits was to observe the installation of fife
septic system.
They installed the system in overall compliance with the septic
2059SD.DWO, dated April 19, 2000, The system was installed as S wn on the atttem acnheda b awingilt No.
The existing septic tank was corrected to the new leachfield as shown on the sketch.
Twelve Standard Infiltrator Chambers were installed in two trenches. Each row 0f trenhes

contained six infiltrators. The infiltrators were connected with serial distribution. In the
infiltrator of each t7rench, inspection parts were installed. Horizontal distance f

trenches; was 12 feet. All piping was DR-35, 4-inch PVC_ The depth of the trenches was no more than
36 inches.

Dear Steve:
On October 2, 1996 , Mont R. Hartman 11 visited the Wolcott Post Office site to review the
septic system designed by our office. His report indicated that all items were in place per the
drawings. The piping was partially buried with backfill to secure it in place. Mont was unable to
confirm pipe type and pipe slope, however the system did appear to slope away from the
building foundation.
The concrete tank was a 750 gallon unit with impartments. The large compartment side
was oriented so that it was the inlet side. The•ohambers were installed per the manufacturers
specifications. The tank was located south of the foundation over five feet away from the
foundation. The tank, lids were within W of the finished grade. The field was 125f with 3
disposal lines and 3 inspection portals. A cleanout was installed between the building and the
tank and there is a 14' "T" in the inlet and outlet of the tank. The inlet and outlet were sealed
properly. The field was 25' south of the foundation and was approximately 3' deep. The soil
interface was raked and the system was installed in accordance with the ISDS setbacks.
To the best of my knowledge, based on the observation report I received from Mont Hartman,
the septic system was constructed in general conformance with the plans and specifications
and in my professional opinion, is in compliance with local codes.

Dear Mr. Doss:
In accordance with your request, MITI GEO has performed percolation testing for the proposed
leach field at the U. S. Post Office in the Town of Wolcott, Eagle County, Colorado. On
December 9, 1995, three trenches (P-1, P-2, and P-3) were excavated to approximately three and
one-half feet below the existing ground surface (bgs) for percolation testing. A 6-inch-diameter
y 11- to 13-inch-deep test hole was excavated in the bottom of each of the three trenches. The
percolation te!es were rMed witn water and ahowed to presaturate. An - foot -deep
profile trench T-1) was also excavated on December 9, 1995, in the center of the proposed leach
ie location. The soil profile was described by MTI O field personnel. The locations of
the percolation trenches and the profile trench are shown on Figure 1. Figure 2 shows the
lithologic log of the profile trench.
Each of the three percolation test holes were filled with water on December 11, 1995, and
percolation readings were measured for a minimum of two hours in each test hole. The results
of the percolation testing for percolation trenches P-1, P-2, and P-3 are summarized in Table 1.
An average of the last three test readings was calculated to determine the percolation rate in each
test hole. Percolation rates were 22 minutes per inch in percolation trenches P-1 and P-2.
Trenches P-1 a d P-2 were located approximately 15 feet east and west of the proposed leach
field, respectively. The percolation rate was 67 minutes per inch for percolation trench P-3,
w Ech was to d approx ma ely 15 feet northwest of the roposed leach field location_ The
test hole in trench P-3-h—ad several cobbles expose which may have caused the high percolation
rate.
The averaze_=rcolation fhbproposed leach field is 37 minutes per inch.
Ho ver, we believe that the rates measured in trenches P-1 and P-2 are more likely
representative o e proposed leach field area. Therefore we recommend that system design be
based on a percolation rate of 22-25 minutes/inch. Based on the percolation test results, the area
t st�ppears to be suitable for the support of_astandard infiltration type septic disposal system.
