LOCATION: lot 2, Filing 2, Cordillera :,rbdivision, Eagle County, Colorado.
DATE: August 17, 1992
DESIGN CRITERIA:
1. Average Percolation Rate - 3.4 minutes per inch.
Tests were conducted in locations shown on the site plan in compliance with Eagle County
Specifications.
2. Design Flow = 675 gallons per day.
Three bedroom, single familyresidence. With two persons per bedroom, at 75 gallons per day per
person, average flow is 450 piton per day. Multiply average flow times 1.5 to obtain maximum
flow.
3. Soil profile:
Soil profile was determined iy drilling one test hole to a depth of ten feet in the approximate
location of proposed filter leds.
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS:
Solt profile is acceptable for desigtof a sand filter absorption system.
1. Sand Filter Absorption System
1. Absorption Area:
675qr)d
0.95 gal/sqft/day • 711 square feet
Recommended Dimensions: Twtbeds, 6' x 60,
Beds shall be level, no less than 24 inches deep and located and constructed in accordance with
specifications contained herein. Refer to Figures for typical section, plan view and for system
Location plan.
Beds shall be excavated to adepth of four feet below bottom of the gravel layer and backfitled
with a minimum of two feet of suitable filter sand over acceptable fill.
Filter sand shall meet the t1t owing criteria:
100 X minus #4 US S7ndard Sieve
Effective Size between 0.25 on and 0.6 mm
Uniformity Coefficirt less than 2.5
Sand shalt be tested to verify compliance with these specifications prior to placement. Sand
should be placed at a minim, of 90 percent of relative density.
2. Drain Pipe:
Drain pipe shalt be 4 inch dmeter perforated PVC, placed level and at the same elevation along
the long dimension of the irds, in two 54 foot long sections whigh are capped on the ends.
Inflow to filter beds shalibe through a PVC Tee fitting as shown.
3. Gravel: 26 Cubic Yards.
Gravel shall be 0.5 to 2.5 ixh diameter washed gravel or crushed rock placed in a 12 inch layer
with a minimum of 2 inches Ibove and 6 inches below the drain pipes.

5. Backfill:
Bed shalt be backfitLed with a minimum twelve inch thick layer of clean soil. On - site soils may
be suitable for backfill, but shall be approved by the design engineer prior to use. Backfill
surface shalt be sloped to allow for surface drainage, covered with a minimum of 4 inches of
topsoil and seeded with native grasses.
6. Storage Tank: I!(/L Q lc 1

1000 gallon two compartment septic t:.nk. Tanks construct on site must be approved by Eagle
County Health Department prior to installation. Premanufactured tanks are recortr.-rr,i .
11. GENERAL:
1. Absorption area shall not be driven over or used for gardens or pasture.
2. Components of the system shalt be constructed within minimum setbacks outlined by Eagle County
Health Department.
3. Septic tank should be pumped and cleaned every two years under normal use.
4. User should be aware that excessive solid waste or excess water flow can decrease the efficiency
and possibly lead to premature failure of the system. Leaking faucets and/or toilets should be
repaired immediately and use of garbage grinder should be minimized.
5. This system has been designed exclusively for the subject lot based on field testing and
experience with similar conditions. Construction shall be inspected prior to backfilting by the
design engineer to assure compliance with these specifications.
