Dear Ms. Woodley,

FAX (303) 328-7207
As we discussed on the telephone yesterday, my office has
received a complaint of septic odors emanating from the property
managed by you at 0063 Lariat Loop in Edwards South Forty
Subdivision.
I visited the property on September 10, 1992 and detected no
odors. However, I did discover a piece of broken sewer PVC on
the ground with some evidence of waste water having surfaced at
some time in the past. Since the dwelling was vacant at the time
of my inspection, I was not able to determine whether the septic
system is in fact failing or not.
The septic system was originally permitted in 1980 under Permit
# 477. It was designed by Intermountain Engineering and consists
of a 1250 gallon septic tank with 2016 square feet of seepage
bed. I've enclosed a copy of the portion of the site plan to
help you locate the system components.
I'm sending a list of our licensed Systems Contractors to help
you correct the apparent problem. Please contact this office
with your findings by September 25, 1992, so we can determine if
an Individual Sewage Disposal Permit will be required. If you
have further questions, don't hesitate calling.
Sincerely -
Raymond Merry, RE

NOTES;
1. All work is to comply with the Eagle County
individual sewage disposal regulation dated
October 1, 1973 - as amended.
2. It is recommended that all pipe noted as PVC
comply with ASTM D-3034, SDR 35. Regardless
of the pipe choice, the manufacturer's require-
ments for installation and backfifI are to
be strictly followed.
3. It has been assumed that the 1250 gallon septic
tank as recommended will be a precast concrete
tank meeting Section V Qf. the Eagle County
individual sewage disposal regulations. If a
cast -in -place tank is desired, it will be
acceptable; however the engineer is to be
provided with shop drawings prior to con-
struction.
4. It is recommended )ut not required to provide
the 411.PVC riser as shown. The purpose of
this riser is to provide air to the bed and
to allow for the easy introduction of chemicals
into the bed for maintenance.
