HomeMy WebLinkAboutR94-135 authorizing close of McGrady Acres Bridge on Nottingham Ranch Road� a commissioner ins-- moved adoption of the following esolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 94 -� AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF MCGRADY ACRES BRIDGE LOCATED ON NOTTINGHAM RANCH ROAD WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. 30- 11- 107(h) the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners (hereinafter "Board ") has the authority to perform such duties as are required for roads located within the County; and WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board that certain repairs are required on the McGrady Acres Bridge located on Nottingham Ranch Road; and WHEREAS, in order to effect the necessary repairs to McGrady Acres Bridge, Alpine Engineering (hereinafter "Developer ") has determined that it is necessary to close the bridge for public safety reasons; and WHEREAS, the Board deems it in the best interest of public safety to close the McGrady Acres Bridge for four to six weeks to allow for repair and maintenance to the Bridge. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: THAT, the Board hereby authorizes the closure of the McGrady Acres Bridge to allow for the necessary repairs. THAT, in order to ensure the safety and welfare of the residents who are served by the Bridge, the Developer, prior to the closure of the Bridge, will: 1. notify the Town of Avon of the Bridge closure; secure approval of Bridge closure from the Town of Avon and provide the Board with a copy of the Town of Avon's approval; and 2. notify the Eagle County Sheriff, Fire District and Ambulance District of the Bridge closure by letter, said letter shall clearly outline alternative route(s); copies of these letters shall be provided to the Board; and 3. Developer shall request the local media, including but not limited to local newspapers and radio stations, to announce the bridge closure; said announcement shall clearly outline alternative route(s); and 4. Developer shall notify all residents situated beyond the bridge of the bridge closure by a written door to door no- tice; copy of said notice shall be provided to the Board; and 5. Developer shall notify Western Mobile Concrete of the bridge closure by letter; copy of said letter shall be pro- vided to the Board; and 6. Developer shall ensure that there will be adequate signage to indicate the alternative route; such signage shall be in accordance with with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. THAT, the Board finds, determines and declares that this resolution is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Eagle County.
