RE: Inspection of Septic System Installation Coyote Lodge Casteel Creek Ranch Eagle Coturty, Colorado Project No. 01144 - ISDS Permit No. 2137-01 At the request of Mr. Steve Jewett of Arena Excavating, can August 2, 2002, Nve visited the construction site at the Coyote Lodge at Casteel Creek Ranch, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visit was to inspect the installation of tzre septic system. They installed the system in overall compliance with the septic system design, Drawing No. 0.144COY0TF-SD.DWG-, Mated August 29, 1001. They installed a 1500-gallon, two w npartmettts, precast, concrete septic tank. The septic tank had "T's" in both compartments. A cleanout was installed between the house and the septic tank, as shown on the as -built sketch. Sixty four, Standard Infiltrator Chambers were installed in four trenches with 16 infiltrators in each tTeuebh The infiltrators were connected with Serial distribution and were 10 feet or more on center. In the first and last infiltrator of each trench, inspection ports were installed. The effluent line was 4-inch SDR 35 PVC;. The location of the septic tank and the location of the line coming into the first row of infiltratnrs was different f7om the original drawing- The attached as -built sketch shows the new location. of the tank and the line corning into the fist row of ir►filtrators. There is no part of the effaueat line crossing under the driveway. The driveway is located to the north and west of the nm residence. If you have atly questions, please do not hesitate to call. Frontage 'load West, Suite 216 Vail, CO 81657 Dear Kyle: RE_ Detention Pond Coyote Lodge Lots 1 & 2, Ca.Steel Creek Ranch Eagle County, Colorado Project No. 01144 At the request from Bob C:ontique, and with, information from, Stacy from your office, and Wes Ploof with Beaudin Ganze, we sized the detention pond for the discharge of the wa.stewatej fjow the Water Filters, Water Softeners, and for the water from the roof runoff at the Coyote Lodge, Casteel Creek Ranch. With the Detention Pond, it will be ensured that the leach field for the septic system is not overloaded. Based on the fax transmittal. from Wes, we understand that the Water Filters at the Coyote Lodge produce 323 gallons of wastewater, twice a. week. The Water Softeners produce 285 gallons of wastewater each time reconditioning occurs. The detention pond was sized for the maximum amount of wastewater being discharged. From the telephone conversation with Stacy, we understand that the roof area of the Coyote Lodge is 18079 square feet. Wes stated in his fax that all of the roof drainage is collected into a storm piping system N ith an estimated flow of 104 gprn, based on a 2 inch/hour storm. Based on the above listed information for the Water filters and softeners, and based on the Rational Method of Drainage Calculations for small watersheds for the roof area, with c=1. i=2"/hour, and an area ,A=0.415 acres, we calculated a total volume of wastewater of 22988 gallons or 3073 cubic feet. The Deterttior Pond can be of any shape. For a circular shape and 2 feet deep pored, the required radius is 23 feet. For a square shaped pond, 2 feet deep, the sides will be 40 by 40 feet. The detention pond will have a spillway, where chemicals and minerals can settle down (1 and the water can overflow overland for final discharge_ ( v Zf you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
