COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 86- ff
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CHAIN OF COMMAND FOR THE
DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCIES IN THE
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution duly adopted the 5th day
of April, 1971, the Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Eagle, State of Colorado (hereinafter the "Board "),
did establish a Civil Defense Agency, now referred to by State
statute as a local disaster agency, pursuant to the provisions
of § 24- 33.5 -707, C.R.S.; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with § 24- 33.5 -709, C.R.S., a
state of local disaster emergency may be declared only by the
Board in its capacity as the governing body of the County of
Eagle; and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it appropriate to establish a
chain of command whereby certain other county personnel are
authorized to declare a state of disaster emergency in the
event of the Board's absence or inability to act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, in the event of the absence of a quorum of the
Board or the quorum's inability to act or the unfeasibility of
promptly contacting such quorum, the Board hereby authorizes
the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Eagle, State of Colorado, to declare a state of
local disaster emergency and to do all things and perform all
acts necessary to effectuate a prompt and effective response
to such disaster emergency.
THAT, in the event of the absence of a quorum of the
Board and of the Chairman of the Board and its /his inability
to act and the unfeasibility of promptly contacting either a
quorum of the Board or the Chairman, the Board hereby author-
izes whichever of the two Commissioners of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado, who is most readily available, to

hereby authorizes the Eagle County Chief Administrative
Officer to declare a state of local disaster emergency and to
do all things and perform all acts necessary to effectuate a
prompt and effective response to such disaster emergency.
THAT, in the event of the absence, inability to act
and /or the unfeasibility of promptly contacting a quorum of
the Board, the Chairman, either of the two remaining Commis-
sioners, or the Eagle County Chief Administrative Officer, the
Board hereby authorizes the Eagle County Attorney to declare a
state of local disaster emergency and to do all things and
perform all acts necessary to effectuate a prompt and effec-
tive response to such disaster emergency.
THAT, this Resolution is necessary for the health, safety
and welfare of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado.
MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commis-
sioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its
