(i.e. customer representative, cxt installer, other contractors on site, archeologist, other interested and pertinent persons. 2.On site procedures. a.Determine general location for the vault toilet installation, with consideration given to having the least possible impact on the plant life around the install site. b.Mark the exact site for the vaults, using marking paint, stand off stakes, or other means to make certain that the vaults are placed correctly. c.Determine the proper finished floor elevation to insure that proper drainage around the building is obtained. d.Determine that the building will be ADA accessible at the chosen floor elevation. 3. Excavation a.Make certain that all locates have been completed and that there are no underground utilities or obstacles in the dig area. b. Excavate hole for vaults, making certain not to over-excavate the bottom of the hole, which would create soft spots. If material in excavation is not suitable for bedding the vaults, then over-excavating is required to allow for a suitable bedding material to be used. (gravel, sand, etc.) Hole must be excavated larger than the vault size, to allow for a compactor to be used during backfilling. 4. Setting vaults in excavation a. Make a visual inspection of the vaults to make sure that they are not cracked, with special attention given to determining that the liner is not damaged. b. Set vaults in excavation. Make certain that the vault is sloped to the front. (1-2%). Special care should be taken when setting double vaults, to make sure that the two vaults are level with each other and sloped from back to front at the same degree. c. Apply mastic to top of vaults, making sure that the top of the vault is clean, so that the mastic will stick to it and not move during the setting of the building. 5. Setting building on vaults a. Make a visual inspection of the building, making sure that it has arrived at the site with no damage. When building is hanging from the crane, a visual inspection should be made of the bottom of the floor to make sure that there is no foreign material that would hinder the proper seal between the top of the vaults and the floor of the building. b. After building is set on the vaults, an inspection should be made to make sure that the proper seal has been made. This can be done after the stack has been installed, by looking in the vault door to see if any daylight shows between the vault and the building floor. 6. Backfilling a. Backfilling should be done in compacted lifts of 8 to 10 inches each. b. Backfill material should be free of any rocks that are large enough to damage the vaults and organic material should not be used in the backfill. c.
