Vern,
I've reviewed the design for the aforementioned system and it looks pretty straight -forward. I'd like to see the raw
data for the percolation test and whether soil profile indicated horizons at particular depths. The LTAR of 1.2gal /
sq. ft./ day is appropriate for course sands and matches the percolation rate but I'd like to see if any more
restrictive or slower percolating soils are present beneath the soil treatment area, especially assuming that
biomat would be formed slowing the movement of wastewater through the soil horizons. Was a sieve analysis
performed? I'm wondering if there is more fine material than meets the eye present. Other comments are as
follows:
On the second page of the report, the paragraph that discusses installation indicates a 8" minimum soil cover
over the tank lids and that should actually read "maximum". This is rectified later in the design.
Notes 4 & 5 seem to not apply to this installation and can be removed.
I noticed that sewer line will be beneath the driveway and that the tank is quite a ways away. This means that
solids and liquids have a pretty long distance to travel. What do you think about using heavy pipe (schedule 80)
or sleeving the pipe and installing a cleanout just beyond the driveway? You may want to insulate this as well.
Infiltrator's shop drawing regarding placement of fill within the zone of treatment (page 6 of the report) seems to fit
with Note #5 but doesn't seem applicable to this site. Am I missing something?
I understand that you are installing this yourself so there shouldn't be any mis-communication between the
engineer and the installer. I'm just trying to make sure the record is as clean as we can get it. Anything you can
send electronically is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Reference: Engineering Certification Letter for Eaton Residence
Permit # OWTS 6-12-7627
Edwards, Colorado
Dear Department of Environmental Health:
Please accept this certification letter, as -built drawing and pictures as certification of the
OWTS serving the subject Eaton Residence at 425 County Road, Edwards, Colorado in
Eagle County, Colorado has been installed as reflected on the As Built Drawing,
attached, and constructed per Eagle County Septic Regulations by licensed septic
installer Vern L. Brock (license #35-12) and general contractor/owner Mike Eaton.
The primary deviations from the original plan are:
• The septic exited the building on the west side and the distance to the tank was
reduced due to internal plumbing and solids transfer.
• The tank was increased to 1500 gal (concrete Copeland tank as original) per
owner for future expansion.
If you have any concerns with this submittal, please call me.
incerely,
Vern L. Brock, P.E.
