Commissioner Updates Commissioner Scherr reminded everyone that it was election season,with a Primary Election coming up in June. Folks could register to vote or verify their information by visiting govotecolorado.gov. Commissioner Chandler-Henry stated that she would be heading to the Western Interstate Region Annual conference where commissioners from the western states meet to discuss issues. There was also a State of the Rivers meeting sponsored by the Colorado River District in Eagle County on June 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. Big river issues and drought would be discussed. Chairman McQueeney gave a shout out to the Garfield County Commissioners who invited the board to a joint meeting yesterday to discuss Cottonwood Pass and Sweetwater Lake. She hoped the conversations would continue. She also gave a shout out to the county management team for engaging with a consulting group called Kaleidoscope. The Kaleidoscope Group would be helping with the issue of diversity, equity and inclusion. County Manager Updates Jeff Shroll ceded his time to Morgan Hill with the Eagle County Environmental Health Department. 1. Smoke Ready Update -Morgan Hill Ms. Hill,Eagle County Environmental Manager, gave a presentation that highlighted wildfire preparedness and the effects of smoke whether caused by prescribed burns,local wildfires, or inter-state smoke transport. She explained that being exposed to smoke could create some short and long term health effects. Folks could sign up for smoke health advisory at fire.airnow.gov or purpleair.com for air quality updates. Air sensors could also be purchased for personal use at home. She spoke about the ways one could reduce smoke exposure by limiting outdoor activities,keeping indoor air clean,and wearing a N-95 mask. She encouraged folks to reach out with any questions. 1 05/10/2022 Consent Agenda 1. Resolution 2022-034 for Special Use Permit for Honey Tree Daycare Annex, ZS-9192-2021 Michael Sylvester, Community Development Commissioner Scherr moved to approve the Consent Agenda for May 10, 2022 as presented. Commissioner Chandler-Henry seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous. Business Item(s) 1. Resolution 2022-035 Concerning Appointments to the Eagle Cemetery District Board of Directors Rhea Silverkorn,Administration • Executive Summary: This resolution appoints Claudia Wells to the Eagle Cemetery District Board of Directors. Commissioner Chandler-Henry moved to approve the resolution concerning appointments to the Eagle Cemetery District Board of Directors. Commissioner Scherr seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous. 2. Craig Kish May 9,2023 Associate 2 05/10/2022 Bill Gibson,Director of Community Development, stated that there were five(5)open positions on the Planning Commission and three(3) existing members requesting reappointment,and two (2)new candidates. A resolution was created in response to the board's recommendations. Commissioner Scherr moved to approve the resolution concerning appointments to the Eagle County Planning Commission. Commissioner Chandler-Henry seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous. Work Session - Eagle County Room 1. EGE Airport Update David Reid,Airport Executive Summary: Post Winter 2021/22 Season update, including summer preview for flights and site improvement/development updates. Planning File - Eagle County Room 1. AFP-9224-2022 Amended Final Plat, 522 Saddle Ridge Katie Kent, Community Development Executive Summary: The applicant requests approval of an Amended Final Plat application to modify the existing building envelope on the property located at 522 Saddle Ridge,parcel number 2107-114-04-002. Michael Current with Current Architects and representative for the applicant stated that the applicant wished to do an addition to a home built near an existing building envelope. He believed the request to amend the envelope was inline with the standards for an amended final plat. Ms. Kent, Senior Eagle County Planner,presented the application. The applicant was requesting a modification to an existing building envelope to add 1,200 sq. ft. to the eatern side of the building envelope and remove 1,200 sq. ft. from the western side of the building envelope. As the proposed amendment did not receive written approval from all adjacent property owners as required by the Cordillera Subdivision PUD Guide, a public process through Eagle County was required. No public comments were received. Staff's review of the application found that the application met all the standards for an amended final plat. There were five standards for approval of which staff believed the application was in conformance. Chairman McQueeney opened and closed public comment, as there was none. Commissioner Scherr believed the file was very straightforward. Commissioner Chandler-Henry concurred with staff that the application met all the standards. Commissioner Chandler-Henry moved to approve the Amended Final Plat for 522 Saddle Ridge, Eagle County File No. AFP-9224-2022, authorizing the Chair to sign the Plat. Commissioner Scherr seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous. 3 05/10/2022 SAC Interviews - Holy Cross Room/Virtual 1.
