Box 660, Eagle, Colorado 81631 June 22, 2021 Ms. Rebecca Wilson Program Specialist Administration for Children & Family Office of Head Start 1961 Stout Street, 8th Floor Denver, CO 80294 Re: Approval for Early Head Start Policies Dear Ms. Wilson: As outlined in the Quality Improvement Plan, Eagle County Early Head Start (EHS) has revised program policies related to: ●Monitoring Program Performance - establishes processes and expectations for the program to monitor contracted child care centers to ensure such center’s compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards. ●Active Supervision - establishes processes and expectations for the EHS staff and staff at contracted child care centers to ensure supervision of children that promotes safety and accountability. ●Safety Practices - establishes processes and expectations for a system of health and safety practices that ensure children at contracted child care centers are kept safe at all times. ●Reporting - establishes processes and expectations for EHS staff and staff at contracted child care centers to report incidents affecting the health and safety of program participants to the EHS program leadership who will then inform the Office of Head Start and the governing bodies. These program policies are aligned with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. They have also been reviewed and approved by the EHS Policy Council.
