TERMINATION OF DISASTER DECLARATION

GYPSUM
WHEREAS, Gypsum Fire Protection District ("District") is a quasi -municipal
corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado and a duly organized and existing
special district pursuant to Title 32, Article 1, Colorado Revised Statutes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to § 32-1-1001, C.R.S. and § 32-1-1002, C.R.S., the District has
all rights and powers necessary or incidental to or implied from the specific powers granted to
special districts pursuant to Title 32, Article 1; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to § 24-33.5-709(1), C.R.S., the Board of Directors of the District
declared a local disaster on March 25, 2020, (the "Disaster Declaration") with respect to the
national public health emergency and worldwide pandemic caused by a virus known as
coronavirus disease 2019 ("COVID-19"); and
WHEREAS, the number of COVID-19 cases continue to decline locally and statewide,
and the number of persons who have received or in the very near future will receive vaccination
for COVID-19 continues to increase and currently represents almost 50% of the population
within Eagle County and State of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the Board hereby finds and determines that termination of the Disaster
Declaration is appropriate and necessary for the function and operation of the District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Gypsum
Fire Protection District as follows:
Due to the local and statewide decline of COVID-19 cases and the increase in the number
of people who have received or in the very near future will receive vaccinations, which number
represents nearly 50% of the population within Eagle County and the State of Colorado, COVID-
19 no longer poses an imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or
property requiring emergency preparation and execution of procedures to minimize its impact
and protect the health safety and welfare of District Constituents, and therefore, the Board does
hereby terminate the Disaster Declaration.
