Home My WebLink AboutR92-098 rescinding approval of lodging taxCommissioner L �7"�`� moved adoption of the following Resolution: RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 92- % A RESOLUTION RESCINDING APPROVAL OF A LODGING TAX FOR CERTAIN PARTS OF EAGLE COUNTY AND WITHDRAWING THE ISSUE FROM THE NOVEMBER 3 1992 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, Sections 30 -11- 107.5, 29 -2 -106, and 39 -26- 102(11), Colorado Revised Statutes, provides for a lodging tax for the advertising and marketing of local tourism; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (the Board) has received a proposal from the Vail Valley Marketing Board for such a lodging tax (the Proposal); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 92 -, the Board established a ballot question regarding the proposal for the November 3, 1992 general election. WHEREAS, after further public meetings and debate, the Vail Valley Marketing Board has withdrawn its proposal and has requested that the ballot question be withdrawn from the upcoming election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado: THAT, approval of the Proposal as granted in Resolution 92- is hereby rescinded and the referral of the issue to the registered electors of the unincorporated areas of the County and of the municipalities with the exception of the Town of Avon is hereby withdrawn.
