HomeMy WebLinkAboutR92-055 amending landfill rate structure for construction debrisCommissioner CD 4 '�� s moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 92 AMENDING THE LANDFILL RATE STRUCTURE TO PROVIDE FOR CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 90 -129 (amended by No. 91 -10), the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado (hereinafter "the Board "), established the current rates for the Eagle County Landfill, as set forth in said Resolution; and WHEREAS, the Board has previously determined that as nearly as possible, the cost of operating the Eagle County Landfill should be paid from user fees rather than taxes; and WHEREAS, the Eagle County Landfill Supervisor has advised that the volume and nature of construction debris which is being transported to the Landfill warrant a special assessment for the disposal of such debris; and WHEREAS, the Board desires to amend the rate structure for use of the Landfill to incorporate construction debris. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: 1. THAT, effective July 1, 1992, the rates for the use of the Eagle County Landfill be amended to provide for a construction debris category, as follows: Trash (Compacted or Loose) Uncovered Load Construction Debris: Covered Uncovered Minimum Charge Per Load Treated Sludge* Tires: Separated from normal trash NOT separated $ 12.75 per ton 5.75 additional per load 19.00 per ton 21.00 per ton 3.50 15.00 per ton 3.00 per tire 3.50 per tire *(when the Landfill Manager determines that suitable areas are available for its disposal) These rates include the charge of One Dollar ($1.00) per ton which is paid quarterly to the Colorado Department of Health. 2. THAT, the term "construction debris" shall describe waste normally attributed to the construction industry, and said construction debris rate shall apply to all loads that contain construction debris, in any amount. 3. THAT, the provisions of Resolution 90 -129 not amended hereby shall remain in full force and effect. THAT this Resolution is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Eagle County, Colorado.
