HomeMy WebLinkAboutR20-027 Appointments to the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees DocuSign Envelope ID:4ECA812B-B334-4967-9FEE-66DAFF8F20A0 Commissioner S moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO 2020- 01/ RESOLUTION CONCERNING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE BASALT REGIONAL LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-90-108(2)(b), the legislative body of the respective participating counties of the district shall appoint members to the library district board of trustees; and WHEREAS, Becky Musselman, whose term expires March 31 2020, has indicated she would like to serve another three year term for the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, the Basalt Regional Library District has recommended her retention as a trustee(see Exhibit A); and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County desires to reappoint Becky Musselman to the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, the following appointment does not constitute a contractual obligation of the County of Eagle or the Board, and the County and the Board are not legally bound for the respective term of appointment as specified herein below, the County, by and through the Board, having the authority, in its sole discretion to change, add, or abolish such appointments and designations to fill vacancies as it sees fit. NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: THAT, Becky Musselman is hereby reappointed to the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees, as a regular member, for a three year term to begin April 1, 2020 and to expire March 31, 2023 or until such time as she is reappointed or her successor has been appointed. O. Box 850 Eagle, Colorado 81631 Dear Commissioners, I am writing to request the re-appointment of Becky Musselman as a board member for the Basalt Regional Library District Board of Trustees. Her current term expires in March 2020. Becky has indicated she would like to serve another three-year term and the BRLD Board recommends her retention as a trustee.She has shown dedication by regularly attending meetings and actively participating in discussions as well as serving as Vice President,the Chair of two separate Director Search Committees, Chair of the Policy Committee, and participation in the Strategic Planning Committee. As per the BRLD Bylaws,the upcoming open position was advertised with a set closing date for applications. No other applications were received by the closing date.
