This being a scheduled Public Hearing,the following items were presented to the Board of County
Commissioners for their consideration:
Planning Files
1. ZS-009047—2019 Verizon Wireless CO3 DT Edwards
Kris Valdez, Community Development
Executive Summary: The applicant requests to install a wireless facility on the rooftop of Battle Mountain High
School.The installation will include 16 new antennas enclosed in a 16'-by-16'screened box.The screened box has
been designed to match the existing architecture and roof pitch of the building.
Ms. Valdez presented the request. She stated that Alicia Wood,with Black&Veatch,representative for
the applicant,would be attending the meeting via land line intercom. Ms.Valdez stated that location was part of
the Berry Creek Miller Ranch PUD. She reviewed the standards and indicated that staff was recommending
approval with one condition.
Commissioner Scherr stated that he had no questions.
Chairman McQueeney stated that she reviewed the referral comment and didn't see anything needing to be
addressed.
Ms.Valdez stated that any concerns had been addressed.
Chairman McQueeney opened and closed public comment, as there was none.
Commissioner Scherr thanked the applicant for resolving any issues with the community beforehand.
Chairman McQueeney expressed her appreciation as well. She stated that she had no concerns about the
standards or staff's analysis of the compatibility with them.
Commissioner Scherr moved to approve file no. ZS-9047, incorporating staff's findings and recommended
conditions,because this application, as conditioned,meets the standards for approval of a Special Use Permit.
Chairman McQueeney seconded the motion. Of the two voting Commissioners,the vote was declared
unanimous.
