HomeMy WebLinkAboutC97-162 Norma CarverC'97 16 2 3 p AGREEMENT BETWEEN NORMA CARVER AND THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO THIS AGREEMENT, made this �.26L'- day of , 1997, by and between the County of Eagle, State of Colorado (hereinafter referred to as "County"), by and through it's board of County Commissioners/Fair Board; and Norma Carver. WHEREAS, the County desires to engage Norma Carver to judge Foods and Food Preservation held on Wednesday, July 30, 1997 at 9:30 a.m. at the Eagle County Fairgrounds. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements contained herein, the parties hereto agree as follows: AUTHORITY TO CONTRACT: 1. The County represents it is duly authorized to enter into this Agreement pursuant to Section 30-11-101, 10-11-103, and 30-11-107, C.R.S., as amended. 2. Norma Carver represents that he/she is duly authorized to enter into this agreement for its intended purposes. COMPENSATION: 3. County shall pay the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00). The County shall also furnish lunch and pay estimated mileage at 31.5 cents per mile. 4. Norma Carver estimates round-trip mileage to be — INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR: 5. This agreement does not create an employee/employer relationship between parties. It is the parties' intention that Norma Carver will be an independent contractor and not an employee of Eagle County for all purposes, including, but not limited to, the application of the Fair Labor Standard Act minimum wage and overtime payments, Federal Insurance Contribution Act, the Social Security Act, the Federal Unemployment Tax Act, the provision of the Internal Revenue Code, Colorado Revenue and Tax laws, Colorado Worker's Compensation law and the Colorado Unemployment Insurance laws. 6. The Eagle County Fair and the judge, while performing their duties, shall abide by the rules and regulations of the local 4-H Council and State 4-H project materials where applicable. The Danish system will be used in all areas except Horse Shows. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties here to have executed this Agreement the day of , 1997.
