BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO.2017-61/
1
CONCERNING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE MINTURN
CEMETERY DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado
(hereinafter "Board") is authorized by Section 30-20-803, C.R.S. to make appointments to the Board of
Directors for cemetery districts; and
WHEREAS,Dick Cleveland was appointed to the Minturn Cemetery District Board of Directors
for a term expiring on July 28,2017; and
WHEREAS, John Sheehan desires appointment to the Minturn Cemetery District Board of
Directors,and the Minturn Cemetery District has recommended the appointment("Exhibit A"); and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County- desires to appoint John
Sheehan to the Minturn Cemetery District Board of Directors.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE,STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT,John Sheehan be and is hereby appointed to the Minturn Cemetery District Board term to
begin on July 29, 2017 and to expire on July 28, 2023 or until such time as he is reappointed or his
successor has been appointed.
THAT, the appointment set forth herein does not constitute a contractual obligation of the
County of Eagle or Board of County Commissioners; and the County of Eagle as the Board of County
Commissioners are not legally bound for the respective terms of appointment as specified herein. The
Board of County Commissioners has the authority in its sole discretion to change, add or abolish such
appointments and to fill vacancies as it sees fit.
THAT, the board finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for the public
health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado;this 15"day of JU.N1••• ,2017.

Dear Minturn Cemetery Board of Directors ,
I would like to apply for a position on the board of
directors . I am very excited about the possibility of returning to the board and possibly working
closely once again , with such a dynamic group at the Minturn Cemetery. It was an honor to
serve on the board for twelve years . In the twelve years , that I previously served . So many
wonderful projects were accomplished in the cemetery . Bringing the cemetery in Minturn to
one of the crown jewels of our county , and to the residents of Mintum and others in the
cemetery tax district. The cemetery has come a long way in the last thirteen years. From a
single wide trailer , with a cemetery full of weeds , knocked down headstones , and full of
rubbish . If brought back onto the board . I would like to continue to beautify the cemetery ,
and maintain what we have worked so hard for the last twelve to thirteen years. This is such
a special place for our residents. And should be kept up , and maintained. As the final
resting place for our loved ones. Something to be proud of. Thank you for your time . And I
hope serious consideration will be given to this request.
