allow a small buffer zone in the calculations and the agreement has been modified to
place a maximum amount of $10,000 on the Eagle County and the Gypsum Fire
District share under this agreement.

* The Wildfire Emergency Response Fund (WERF) (Ref: Colorado State Statue CRS 23-31-309) was
created to assist local jurisdictions with initial attack wildland fire response on state and private
lands within the state of Colorado. Any County Sheriff, municipal fire department, or fire
protection district within Colorado may request WERF as the official Requesting Agency.
WERF will reimburse, if funds are available, the Requesting Agency the cost of eligible wildland
firefighting resources. If the WERF request is not granted Eagle County will cover 50% of any
unreimbursed portion of the cost of the handcrew and/or first load of retardant.
