Local Agency Assurance
It is the policy of Eagle County Government to ensure that all its programs, policies and
activities do not have the effect of excluding persons from participation in, denying the benefits
of, or subjecting person to discrimination due to race, color, or national origin. It is the
responsibility of every person within Eagle County Government and all Eagle County
Government external agents to incorporate and implement actions consistent with non-
discrimination in programs.
The Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color and
national origin in federally assisted programs. Eagle County Government is a recipient of federal
funds and as such it, as well as all of its responsible agents, contractors and consultants, is
required to assure such non - discrimination. This prohibition against discrimination applies to all
phases, activities and programs of Eagle County Government when any part of Eagle County
Government receives federal assistance regardless of whether that particular program or
activity is directly federally funded or assisted.
That Eagle County Government shall take any measures necessary to effectuate this
agreement.
That each Eagle County Government program, activity, and facility will be conducted and or
operated in compliance with nondiscrimination requirements under all Federal Laws and
regulations.
That these assurances are given in consideration of and for the purpose of obtaining any and all
Federal grants, loans, contracts, property, discounts or other Federal financial assistance are
binding on Eagle County Government, its recipients, sub - grantees, contractors, subcontractors,
transferees, successors in interest and other participants.
That Eagle County Government, will insert a notification in all solicitations for bids for work or
material subject to the Regulations that notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that
disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response
to all invitations and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national
origin for all proposals for negotiated agreements.
That Eagle County Government will insert appropriate nondiscrimination clauses in every
contract subject to Title VI and the Regulations.
Eagle County Government will document and display more information on Eagle County
Government nondiscrimination obligations and the process on how the to file a Title VI
complaint, in addition will post contact Eagle County Government Title VI Coordinator, including
the person's telephone number, fax number, and agency's mailing address. Eagle County
Government will display a statement stating a written complaint may be filled no later than 180
calendar days after the date of the alleged discrimination.
Eagle County Government will display Information on non - English alternative formats and how
the non - English alternatives may be obtained from the Eagle County Government. Eagle
County Government will display the Language English Proficiency (LEP) contact personnel's
name including the person's telephone number, fax number, and agency's mailing address.
