Protecting Western Colorado Water Since 1937
The term of Jon Stavney, Eagle County Director of the Board of Directors of the Colorado River
Water Conservation District, expires in January 2010.
Under Section 104 of the River District's Organic Act, Mr. Stavney may be reappointed, or a
freeholder who has been a resident of Eagle County for two years prior to appointment and has in
the last calendar year paid taxes on real estate in Eagle County maybe appointed. Appointment is
for athree-year term.
Section 104 also provides that your reappointment or new appointment shall be made at your first
meeting in January 2010.
After you have appointed a director, please complete the enclosed Notice of Appointment and return
it to us in the enclosed envelope. Please forward the enclosed Oath of Office to the appointee and
ask that he or she sign and return to this office or at the District's January 2010 board meeting.
Completion of the Oath is a statutory precandition to discharging duties as a River District director.
