HomeMy WebLinkAboutC08-176Eagle County Youth Collaborative Agreement Memorandum of Understanding Purpose The Eagle County Youth Collaborative (ECYC) is a partnership of Eagle County youth-serving organizations who are members of The Eagle River Youth Coalition. The purpose of ECYC is to decrease the academic achievement gap of students enrolled in Eagle County schools. ECYC will further foster positive youth development in order for Eagle County youth to become successful adults. ECYC is intended to: • Leverage our collective resources for the common good of all partners, both financially and through shared information. • Share program data to demonstrate the impact of nonprofit organizations in serving the community. • Develop a common evaluation plan and assessment tool that measures the collective impact of member organizations. • Explore common space opportunities for program and administrative functions. • Avoid duplication and share best practices and outcome data. 1) ECYC Agency Characteristics Every youth-serving organization will: a) Provide in-school or out-of school services to school age youth enrolled in Eagle County schools b) Have quantifiable measurements for the success of its program c) Share data with ECYC coordinator regarding youth served and frequency of services provided to participants d) Have a proven track record of serving youth e) Have mandatory risk management policies and procedures that require background checks, interviews, references, training and on-going support of all volunteer candidates and volunteers who work directly with youth. f) Adhere to nonprofit best practices as recommended by the Colorado Nonprofit Association 2) ECYC Agency Responsibilities a) Join as a member of The Eagle River Youth Coalition b) Appoint a representative to the ECYC c) Attend 75% of ECYC meetings d) Staff member participates on ECYC task force 75% of the time 3) Terms of Agreement ECYC was established in January 2008, this agreement is in effect until January 2010. In the event a partner chooses to leave ECYC, a written notice of withdrawal shalt be submitted and shall be automatically accepted. The ECYC will have quarterly meetings, with individual task force meetings in between. Decisions will be made by majority rule. In the event a partner is unable to meet the terms of this agreement in a timely manner and, or, to comply with requirements of funders, ECYC may end that partner's membership in the collaboration by giving prior notice of the intention to terminate the partner's membership and a 2/3 vote of all partners represented in ECYC. Each year the terms of this MOU will be reviewed. 4) Incorporation ECYC is an initiative of the Eagle River Youth Coalition (ERYC). The ERYC will serve as the fiscal agent for all ECYC activities. Each provider is required to maintain tax-exempt status and adequate liability insurance for all activities and functions related to ECYC. Eagle County Youth Collaborative ..,,~
