AlP PROJECT NO.3-0B-0020-35 LOCATION: GYPSUM, COLORADO SCHEDULE NO. II CHANGE ORDER NO. THREE o Elam Construction CONTRACTOR: YOU ARE HEREBY ORDERED TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE IN THE PLANS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ABOVE DESIGNATED PROJECT. 1. DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE TO BE MADE: Provide profile/leveling partial pavement removal on Taxiway "A" and connector Taxiways "Al", "Cl", "C2", "C3", "A2", "A3", "A4", "AS", and "A6" to provide required depth oftop surface cou and leveling course of asphalt. This change cost estimate Is consistent with that provided In PCO No.7. Also included In this change order are the delay costs to Elam. 2. REASON FOR ORDERING CHANGE: The original benchmark and existing ground elevations were found to be in error with intlal survey Information taken at the start of this project. Without adjustment of the original benchmark the top surface of the taxiway would have been, on average, 0.1 foot too high resulting in an overrun of asphalt quantity and therefore costs. This change mitigates that overrun with a change to the partial pavement removal required for profile/leveling prior to application of the top surface of bituminous pavement. 3. SETTLEMENT FOR THE COST OF THE MENTIONED CHANGE IS TO BE MADE AS FOLLOWS: Payment shall be made In accordance with the price quoted in the original contract bid quantities. The quantity of pavement removal under Pay Item P-140b Asphalt Pavement Removal (Partial Leveling) was bid at 37,200 square yards at $6.00 per square yard. The additional partial pavement removal area totals 81,095 square yards or 43,895 square yards additional. At the contract uni price of $6.00 per square yard the pay item is increased $263,370 or a total for the pay item of $486,570.00. Delay costs are shown on PCO No. 16 for $23,007.25.
