HomeMy WebLinkAboutC88-137 Letter of Agreement with Eagle Flight Service for airport lighting systemC88- 137 -17 LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN EAGLE FLIGHT SERVICE STATION AND EAGLE COUNTY REGARDING OPERATION OF EAGLE COUNTY AIRPORT LIGHTING SYSTEM EFFECTIVE DATE: 12/06/88 1. PURPOSE: This Letter of Agreement establishes procedures for operating the Runway lights and Airport rotating beacon at the Eagle County Airport, Eagle, Colorado. 2. CANCELLATION: Airport Lighting Operation Letter of Agreement dated 7/5/84 3. RESPONSIBILITY: a. Eagle County Airport rotating beacon is operated from dusk to dawn by use of photocell equipment. Eagle Flight Service Station shall report all outages of the runway lights and rotating beacon to the Airport management. b. The County of Eagle shall be responsible for maintaining all Airport lighting in good working condition. C. The Airport owner /operator covenants and agrees to indemnify and save harmless the United States of America to the extent that it may be acting by and through the Federal Aviation Administration and the agents, employees, or designees of said agency against any and all loss, damage, costs and expenses which it or they may hereafter incur, suffer, or pay by reason of this, or the Airport owner /operator's negligence arising out of the operation of the runway lights and Airport rotating beacon. 4. PROCEDURES: a. Runway lights shall not be lit by Flight Service Station personnel if a NOTAM closing that runway is in effect. b. Activation of lighting for Runway 8/26 by Flight service may be done only at the request of Airport Management or in an emergency. Flight Service Station may activate Runway 7/25 lighting at its discretion, but only to the minimum intensity level. Higher intensities may be activated only at pilot's request. -1- 01 C. The Airport Rotating Beacon shall be operated from dusk to dawn by use of photocell equipment or Flight Service Station in IFR conditions at Flight Service Station's discretion. d. The Eagle Flight Service Station shall originate Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) concerning Airport lighting outages and notify the Eagle County Airport Manager or designated representative for repair actions.
